Well the players and coaches themselves will try. You can only really tank with roster management. So you cannot really “go for it and tank” unless you trade away and bench all your good players. It’s probably easier done in the off-season. And I think it was fair to not go into this year tanking.
Since the players are trying, I’m rooting for the players to turn out to be decent. Like our OL, jc and Jones, wino uche and Jennings, etc.
if we lose the next 9 games, then those players likely didn’t do as well and our assets are lesser. If we actually win some games, it’s likely because our team played well. Therefore, we would be further ahead with our roster. I would like the team to be able to compete after making some key additions.
Think about if we had finished the comebacks vs Seattle, Denver, and Buffalo and we were sitting atop the division. You wouldn’t be advocating for talking. Results of games influence roster evaluation. Players are how good they show.
