Boutte wasn’t getting re-signed and Williams’ skill set is a better fit as a complementary WR to Brown & Doubs IMO. Douglas & Williams have to perform now though.

Maybe a ST guy? I just can’t process S being the spot they traded a solid asset for!

The Pats did Boutte a favor. He's in his contract year and wasn't going to see the field much assuming A.J. stays healthy. As a nice insurance policy hate to see him go and would rather keep him over "Where Is The Ball?" Williams, but the numbers (and $$$) game prevailed.

Looks like the WR room is now pretty well set.
