A few things I have been thinking about this offseason.

First, a lot of teams are going to be sucking for Arch, but I have been wondering if he didn't have the Manning name would any team want to suck for the guy. What has Arch Manning done thus far to tell us that he is going to be a QB the quality of either of his uncles?

Second, thinking back to the 2024 draft, there were a lot of people wanting to trade back with the Vikings and take JJ McCarthy. Maybe if Belichick was still doing the draft, that could have happened. Watching him this preseason, I wonder if he is even a viable back QB. There are rumors that the Vikings will cut him (I doubt it, but who knows?).

Personally, as someone who isn't a draftnick and knew nothing about Maye or McCarthy other than what I might have read or heard from others, I was open to trading down for the right price. At this point the only QB worth taking in that range is Bo Nix (who I think is overrated and vastly inconsistent). I am glad no one on the Patriots were listening to me that night.

This guy set the tone way back

I just ran the math, Lee Majors would be a 45 Million Dollar Man today. Maybe a Gonzo alternative?

For one he can Run unlike them...the throwing will come.

Obviously, we know our guy’s situation is a bit skewed due to his rookie year. However, a simple solution would be to stop allowing so many damn points haha.

Too much is made about Belichick's draft night interview about Maye.

He gave criticisms which were totally fair about Maye's jitteriness and pocket presence.

But no one seems to remember when he said -- in that very same interview -- Maye has a bigtime arm and incredible accuracy.

Criticism and complement. Both in the same interview.

No doubt he was much higher on Daniels who was much more experienced, who had a lot of tape on him.

I didn't say Belichick would have traded back. I said Belichick MIGHT HAVE traded back. None of us know what he would have done. I am not going to rehash this argument.

I don’t think his draft comments were overly critical or complimentary, which is on par with his comments on many players.
I do however question if he would’ve drafted him if he was running the Pats with pick #3.
Based on his years of drafting, I guess he wouldn’t have taken him, but that’s all it is, a guess.

BB liked Daniels and JJ McCarthy the most that year. He was Meh on Maye and lukewarm on Caleb Williams.

Jeff Hafley: “Success won't be measured in Ws, Ls this year, it's about whether or not we’re able to draft Jeremiah Smith or one of those darn QBs…”
