NFL News Maxx Crosby to Ravens (Update - Ravens Backing Out of the Deal)

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
I was just thinking that. He will face Crosby, Garrett and Watt 6 times next year. ouch
Watt did not look like the same player last year.
He's going into his 10th year, I think he's on slippery downslope.

I agree that he is on the decline, but he is still able to get to the QB along with Herbig and Cinncy's OL is rough

So the question now is are the Raiders taking Mendoza at 1 and the Omar Cooper at 14

So Baltimore looking like they should be easily tougher than Pittsburgh next year.
Winning the division is Goal #1 (as Parcells taught us).

I got the Micah Parsons trade compensation because he is elite but also 2 years younger than Crosby. Honestly thought a 1st and 2nd should of got it done for Baltimore but definitely a position of need filled for that defense. Overpay, but at the very least he will be fun to watch for Ravens fans the next few years.

When it comes to value, there's a lot more.... cover... (Or less blowback?) for overbidding when it's on the basis of money/contracts. Conversely, picks are how you strike gold, they're how you have a shot to begin with. This trend of throwing multiple first round picks at the wall for a player already coming in at a premium is ****in dumb. Not worth it at all. So many have happened over the past few years and n.o.n.e mean ****. The main value in the 1st round pick is literally the low cost of potentially starter, potentially amazing talent.

Ravens should be the favorite out of the AFC for the next couple years. Steep price to pay, but worth it if they win a SB.

It makes sense, their D was not good and struggled to rush the passer.
Balt was 11th in pts scored this year with Lamar missing a bunch of time.
They were 18th in points against.
in 2024 with a healthy Lamar they were 3rd in pts scored and 7th in passing.
in 2023 they were 6th in scoring.

They can score pts.

Lol yes 2023-2024. This is 2026. Lamar is 2-3 years older and his body is broken down. Have you not noticed? My point is the offense peaked and so did Lamar. They are on the decline. Henry is 32 and the wall will hit soon. If that happens this season, they are in trouble. Its either Zay or nothing. Likely is leaving.

When the dolphins traded more for Hill than what he was worth, then paid him crazy $, we saw the quick disintegration of that team within a few years. Dolphins weren't in the position to bet on themselves, and neither are the Ravens.

This would make more sense if they were closer to a championship. It seems Baltimore is desperate. Technically it would make sense for the Patriots to make that trade, but they would mortgage the future.

Glad we didn't make this trade.

They will make additions just like every other team. I'm sure they will be adding a RB via FA or the draft.
Likely has never been a very impactful player. He will easily be replaced.
I am not a supporter of Lamar in the playoffs, I said many years ago he would never win a SB, but if he's healthy he will be effective in the regular season.
Their D has been a problem for the better part of 2 years, they are weaker on that side of the ball.

This is the kind of trade you make when you have good players on good contracts pretty much everywhere else on your team. Where you're already set with good young developing talent. It's not a trade the Patriots should have made given they still have major holes now and within the year to fill (at the very least).

You also don't make this trade if you're the Ravens who are on the other end of things as the Patriots. You needed as many middle class guys as you could get to round out the team around Lamar's luxury suite contract. You need tons of rookie contracts playing well around that guy's contract.

The trade only makes sense basically for...I honestly can't think of any team who would benefit from losing the picks and the cap space.

Yeah I see them going obvious QB Mendoza @ 1 but WR @ 14?? I don't think O Cooper is the 14th best player in this Draft though: they could get a guy with Crosbys ceiling @ 14. They're going to need a replacement. Also they Drafted Two WR's last Draft.

Micah Morris sleeper Guard played with Jared wilson at Georgia. Best guard available for pats in draft would be chase bisontis

Dang, looking like we might not get anyone we were linked to lol.
