But where were Thuney and Mason taken? If he's at their level, he's not at their value.
So the Pats created a self inflicted hole on the O Line as noted above and the tried to fill it by taking a huge reach in the first round. Ok . . . Great one
Because they need a long term guard/center solution desperately. He has to start by strengthening both lines...then they will be competitive.

Not just ESPN. BCG here had him as a 3rd rounder. Obviously we hope he works out and appears to be a decent enough prospect, but over Dean? Over Hill? Over Travis Jones? Point is, we think they could have picked one of those guys and he would still be waiting for them in the 2nd if they wanted.
The Patriots were taking one, too.
