and on that final Washington score, he was on top of their SS stack and communicated well, picked up and rode his man OOB (Travis gave up the TD).

4:32 left in the 2nd if someone wants to post a clip of that.

Merged the post game thread with @luuked re-watch thread...sorry for the confusion everyone......this girl is obviously still in preseason form.

Well at least no one is trying to take your spot. I could try, but I don't know how well I'd pull off any of those dresses. :(

Demerius Travis whiffed big time as well. Though Richards looked ridiculous. As the safety coming from the far side, he's supposed to time things better.
Yup. With McCourty, Chung and Harmon seeing so many snaps, we are one injury away from S4 assuming significant responsibilities. It would be great if we were grooming a young S to slide in there, but it is looking increasingly like that guy is not on the roster (at least not as a safety). Do you think that Richards assumed that role, or will BB look elsewhere?

Did Patterson look good?

He did Patterson things. Made a big catch but not cleanly and looked athletic and huge out there but not a true WR. It was about what you'd expect. He'll make plays for the team on occasion, no worries.

Wilson became the Lions' starting strong safety and leading tackler his first year with them. Different system and scheme. Good player; not a good fit for the Pats as it tuned out.

He was bad in New England. He's bad in Detroit.

Given what he brings to the table on ST, I highly doubt it.

I tend to agree, but i have to admit. At this point I notice him play STs more than do well on STs. I see him out there a lot but he rarely does anything that I would say makes him a great STer. He rarely seems to pop off the screen like Ebner, J. Jones and Slater do not to mention others.

I'm not at all suggesting Michel be stashed for Webb. What I'm TRYING to say is if Michel needs more time the team might have the luxury of being ultra-conservative with his situation given the position's depth. It all depends on the health status of Michel's knee combined with: how much time he misses, the health of the other RBs and whether a guy like Webb can prove he has genuine value as part of that mix.
I don’t see that as a luxury. I see it as a disaster.
I mean Michel is supposed to be ready by the opener so I think you are turning a hangnail into a decapitation but I’d rather have Michel at practice working and getting ready to play even if he misses the first half is the season. Webb wouldn’t even see the field any way. I’d rather have my first rounder at practice and preparing to play than sitting at home so Webb can hold a game say inactive roster spot instead of the practice squad spot that is probably his best case achievement.

I highly doubt they spent a 1st round pick on Michel just to replace him with an UDFA because they have that "luxury." If Michel is injured for the season, then yes, it's nice to have depth, but actually planning on not using him just because another guy did well against 4th stringers seems a bit shortsighted, no offense.

100% agree. If they really think they have something special with Webb then the guy they will cut is Hill (who is clearly ahead of Gill). But Webb needs to be REALLY special for that. I don't think they want to go into the season with 2 rookie RBs if they can help it.

Unfortunately, linebackers that can consistently cover running backs are really hard to find. That's why it's a common mismatch that the Patriots exploit.
Hard to find as in there aren’t any.

The Gucie run where he gets dinged....the fullback held on #51 (Bentley I think). #51 is showing up a lot in the 1st quarter...

He did well. I wonder if they will keep 2 run stopping specialist LBs in Robert and Bentley? That seems rarely done in these days.

Hard to find as in there aren’t any.

A few come along every couple years (Roquan Smith might be that guy this year, if the Bears can get him into camp), but the're generally high in the draft, or with major red flags, and usually they don't have the ability to stop the run or be every down players. We all want that coverage guy, but the tradeoffs usually aren't worth it in terms of the way the rest of the defense is compromised.

Here's Foster with a great pass breakup, but again, major red flags and he still went round 1.

Heading into the MRI, the hope was #Redskins RB Derrius Guice had suffered just an MCL injury, but the way he walked off the plane was concerning. Less than an hour ago, he learned his fate: A torn ACL that ends his rookie season before it began. Brutal.

Washington issued this statement: “RB Derrius Guice and TE Manasseh Garner will miss the 2018 season due to ACL injuries sustained from last night's preseason game at the New England. Both players are expected to make a full recovery and are looking forward to playing in 2019.”

I wonder how they can find a spot on the roster for Web.

White
Michel
Hill
Bolden
Burkhead
Devlin

Agreed. Hope he can make it to the PS. I really like the addition of Hill. He will be very imorimpor this year, similar to Blount in the playoffs, sans super bowl. We're stacked at RB.

I think BB appreciates his brain and what he brings to ST. He also may have some damning pictures of BB that he's threatening to use because, otherwise, he's a complete bum on defense. And I think that's putting it lightly. So if he's missing tackles on ST, I'm actually happy for it. It really wouldn't be that big of a deal if the Patriots weren't playing so much of their version of the Big Nickel but they are, and when they do, his position is important. He can't contain runs up the A and B gaps, he can't pursue East to West, he can't set the edge, he can't cover TE's, he can't cover RB's, and he can't cover WR's.
I think he's Jake Bequette's brother-in-law.
