So tonight is the last episode ever. Although the show has declined in quality over the years due to mediocre hosts (I almost would have taken Jerry Glanville back on the show rather than Cris Carter), I basically spent my whole life watching the show weekly and will miss it.

Assuming Pro Football Talk has this quote correct :

"NFL Director of Corporate Communications Dan Masonson says that the weekly highlight show will move to another network, but no further information was provided".

Hopefully they are leaving Bob Costas behind

I'll believe it when I see it. I do hope they shake up the hosts though. Get rid of Costas! He was there because of his relationship with HBO anyway. Get rid of Marino and Carter while you are at it too. Collinsworth is the only one worth keeping which is ironic since he was the weak link back in the Nick Buonocotti and Len Dawson days.

I hope that the entire show is fitted with concrete shoes and thrown into the ocean.

I have HBO as part of my tier in Baltimore. I haven't had it since our last year in Dallas TX in 1995. That show has become completely unlistenable. Good riddance.

It was an awesome show back in the 80s when it started there was no satellite, no nfl network, and this was the only way to get a look at teams outside your market and in depth replays of the games. However with so many NFL shows and highlight shows it has gone the way of the dodo.

I couldnt wait for this to air as a kid and being a Pats fan outside of new england.

Great show pre ESPN days with Len and Nick .....but then it just stunk !!!

Yah, the show was awesome with Len & Nick. And who was their "insider" at the time? I know it wasn't Peter King.

Since the show is produced by NFL Films ,I would guess that it's destined for The NFL Network. It would only make sense.

100% With Len and Nick it was fantastic. I never did like the fact they kind of got "pushed off" the show for younger blood. I think Nick just wanted to get away from it, but Len still calls the Chiefs Games in KC. He's still into the sport big time.

Today, why would you even need it on HBO, with NFL Network, Fox Sports Local in every City (almost) and ESPN and their 12 or 18 channels...its just not needed really. by the time they air, you've seen every possible highlight and seen every possible breakdown.

But man, in the 80s...I definitely planned my week around Inside the NFL.

NFL Network will likely pick up the show.
