PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 12

Teams would rather have guy who was over 30 years old, never has played on a team for more than 2 years, going on his 6th team in 8 years than two young WR’s they just drafted in the 2nd and 4th rounds one year ago. That is beyond stupid.
They didn't sign Hollins to a guaranteed 4 million dollar contract to be a camp body to cut.
Maybe, just maybe they signed him because they saw enough of Polk/Baker on tape...or more accurately saw so little of them they knew they were both heading to bust town in a big hurry.

Looking forward to the hypocrites that agree with this. This will be interesting.

Do we think that Boutte would be traded for a 5th or 6th.

Vrabel may be shopping Boutte.

That doesn’t mean that he will get an acceptible offer.

I agree with this

Is Boutte good enough to threaten the team with trade me or else.

If so, perhaps the giants or CLE

He can ask for a trade.
He can push for a trade.
He cannot force a trade.
He has zero leverage.
Could he become a distraction...I guess anything is possible, but have we seen any signs of him not working as hard as he can on the practice field?
He is in no position to hold-out, how would that help his career?
He has two options:
Get traded (which I've always said could happen but I think it would be a mistake for 2026).
Do whatever he can on the field with his opportunities HERE this year, and then the contract with us or whoever else will work out next year.

Facts

Maroney got traded and out of the NFL.
Polk just retired.
Baker is MIA. Nobody has heard or seen him.
Bouttes days are numbered now.
None of those have anything to do with each other.
You are hitting the moonshine hard today aren’t you.

Haven’t going to do any of those things, they are not in his best interest.
He asked to be traded to a team that would extend him and give him more targets. It seems such a team doesn’t exists
If he becomes a disruption it hurts his future.
If he shuts up and catches deep balls from the best deep ball thrower in the league he will earn his next contract either here or in free agency.

Only if the 2 guys you just drafted are stiffs.

Don’t get the Hollins hate. What is he ? No one ever thought he would be prime J Rice. IMO, he exceeded expectations, made big blocks and big catches in key spots. All this as the third of fourth option.

Smart teams dont piss away resources like that.

Furthermore, this contract prompted Boutte to ask to be traded.
That quoted post’s logic tells me the poster sells stock of it dips a week after buying

You told us that a WR under contract had to play.
I said Boutte has to play because in his position he would be an idiot not to. And he knows that.

Agree completely. He was an exceptional depth player. He contributed every time he was given a chance. Don't know what there is not to like about him?
