McGinest was a 3-4 OLB in a scheme with a base front 7. Typically 4 or 5 of the 5 DE/DT/OLB would rush. And he was a DE in nickel/dime and rush every time.
Jacas is either a 3-3 OLB or a 4-2 DE depending on what you wish to call the same alignment in a nickel base where the front 4 or 3+1 rush. There is no longer a front 7. There will be rare occasions where a play call his him drop into coverage but it is insignificant.

Keion White played 123 snaps for the patriots last year and was in coverahe for ZERO of them.
In 2024 he played 830 snaps and was in coverage for 58.
In 2023 he played 522 snaps and was in coverage for 10.

The number of 68 snaps in coverage out of 1505 where he was in man coverage could be counted on one hand and you wouldn’t need all the fingers.

Even Vince Wilfork dropped into coverage and had an interception. You continue your word games.

Pats have been bad along the edges in run support since the dynasty ended. Last year was really bad particularly on Chaisson's side. Every time he'd rush upfield and the T would push him out of the play, I'd pray the QB didn't see the Grand Canyon sized hole and take off. He was an extremely undisciplined player.

Volin specifically said the language is from the injury waiver. These technically aren't public, but many examples of the details becoming public. And if the Pats felt they hadn't been treated fairly, they might have additional reason to leak the details.

That was my example - there are plenty of others. All Volin did was to quote what he claimed was the specific language from the waiver. Hard for me to see him simply making up specific medical jargon out of thin air.

What was all speculation is the stuff about why this didn't emerge at the Combine - Volin said that he spoke to some other teams who had had no concerns about his knee. The doc said there are lots of games played at the Combine - he would ask players if this was their hammy or their agent's. So unclear just when the Patriots found out about it. Possible even that he injured his knee after the Combine and the condition was discovered then. And as I mentioned before, the doc was cautious on the long term impact as he hasn't seen the scans. Exact location and size makes a difference. His only prediction was 50:50 on whether he gets to a second contract.

The Patriot D held the Seahawks without a touchdown until the 4th quarter. The Seahawks scored one TD the entire game. They don’t judge wins and losses based on yards.

The reason the Patriots lost is because the offense looked like crap and Drake turned it over three times.

The Patriot offense punted on their first 8 possessions and fumbled on their 9th. They didn’t score a single point until they scored their first TD in the 4th quarter, they followed that drive up with back to back interceptions on the next two drives.

When faced with superior defenses, Drake played poorly the entire playoffs and Seattle took advantage of him being the second youngest QB to ever appear in a Super Bowl.

Sam or Will linebacker? I hope these guys will be versatile. I'm sure Vrabel will spin the dial. Just saying that 3% you talking about is when it works... You don't like the exotic blitz plays, the confusing of the opposing offense during critical 3 downs. All I'm saying is can this kid do it if needed.

I hope so. For me most of our great Superbowl defenses we had extremely great linebackers who where versatile, powerful and nasty. I guess I'm the old man here....
