I already love Jacas

I hope he right.

I hope he's the proverbial bull in the china shop

I hope his play on the field makes me eat a **** ton of crow from all my haters

But pardon me while I slow my roll about his play

He hasn't even had a day of full participation in camp yet

Well we have Dre'Mont Jones - Elijah Ponder and now Jacas...we need at least one more EDGE to emerge. I'm not expecting anything from Landry except being on IR.

your expectations for Landry do not align with the teams expectations
I wonder who has more intel on the situation? you or the team?

Meh. More player-speak platitudes. Show me.

I really hope this kid is the real deal, but standing in front of the reporters isn't what we need him to do. Go throw some dudes "outdaclub" and I'll be happy.

look at some of the tweets from practice
the kid is a physical stud
he looks the part. he talks the part. now go out and be a part.
not looking for him to be Tippitt on day 1, but a contributor on day 1, and by mid season pushing for more and more snaps

Exactly. One day at a time. I think we’ll need to wait awhile to see how good Jacas is/isn’t.

one thing he is....is huge
he is 270 ish
Dre Jones is 280 ish

Pats are going to be a lot bigger on the edge this season.

It doesn't matter how Big you are if you can't set it. Really hoping we are better there.

I thought the look on his face on draft night was due to the Patriots drafting him, and I never got the impression that he ever wanted to be here.
I remember that. Thought jez man you don't look too happy about that pick.

He denies it, but he said he always has that look on his face. He did say he was surprised that NE took him because they never spoke to him. The guy was very entitled the day he arrived which many on this board rushed to his defense.

I’m sure that’s one reason they took him. Ideally, they are at least more physical at the position. But obviously, size by itself isn’t going to determine how well he’ll play.

no. but clearly, as well as he played, they wanted to be bigger than Chiasson.
clearly, they are how

IF he stays healthy, he could cause problems for the oppositions Oline. Was one of the top pass rushers in college football last year.

Also, if Ponder has a good 2nd year jump, and Swinson can show promise, the pass rushers could be above average this year/

Yep. Chiasson was a fun player. Made some nice plays last season. But he was undersized to hold up on the edge. Would wear down against the run. I liked him, but I think Jacas can me a more complete player.

Sounds great. Lov it if he fills out the promises of Draft night.

But the realist / skeptic in me says …. „Don’t get to reliant on this guy too early. At end of day, he is still a rookie. 17 games plus postseason is 2 college seasons, and him being worn out right when you need him most is a bad plan. „

I certainly never saw him smile.

Not yet... not yet. Can he cover in the passing game? Have you guys seen it? Don't annoint...

....why would and edge rusher's ability to 'cover in the passing game' matter in the slightest?
