Why do you always put words in my mouth. I never said Belichick hated Maye. Never ever. This is the problem with debating with the Belichick cult or any other cult of personality. You guys don't deal with facts. You deal with feelings and your feelings become facts in your mind.
Why are we even talking about BB not liking Maye? Oh yeah, because a couple haters here insist Bill didn’t like Maye as a prospect and never would have taken him. Because of you and people like you…
The cult of Bill doesn’t exist… we’re just Patriot fans who believe 20 years of excellence didn’t happen by accident or because Bill was a stumbling bumbling fool who got lucky and backed into success… like Bob’s documentary suggested.
I’ve been posting about New England sports since the mid 90’s, since dial up internet, and have a long history of slamming BB decisions, free agent signings and draft picks. I could give you an encyclopedia of examples and provide time stamped links proving this.
Stop projecting…
Kraft's documentary was a hit piece on Belichick in a lot of ways. That doesn't change the fact that he has been consistent for decades in saying he learned from his mistake with Parcells and allowing him to pick the groceries. There is no evidence that he took away final say on personnel from Belichick. In fact, most of the reporting about what went on in the war room with the Mac Jones selection said that he had final say, but decided to go with the group decision. And Kraft's documentary doesn't have anything to do what happened with the draft in 2021.
The Krafts and Bill clearly ended on poor terms. If you’re denying that you’re either in denial or lying.
And Belichick never said that QB was a bigger need than WR or tackle. He specifically said QB was "one of the Patriots top needs". He never said it was the biggest need. Just because he said QB first in the list of the Pats three biggest needs doesn't mean it he said that it was the top priority.
He listed their needs in order in the video I provided you, QB was #1 on that list… again, odd considering Mac was still on the roster at that point.
You denying this ^ is exactly why you’re biased… you’re straight lying about something I just provided video evidence of.
I never said that Mahomes wasn't good at passing in the pocket. I said he is not a pocket passer. He is a mobile QB. And what makes him elite his ability to scramble out of the pocket and make off platform throws. Your problem is you don't understand the difference between a pocket passer and a QB who is great at passing in the pocket.
Yeah, you did. Your exact quote:
“Mahomes has multiple rings and he is not a pocket passer.”
Another lie…
And you are arguing that Belichick didn't seem high on any QB in the 2024 draft that the Pats could have drafted whether it was Maye, McCarthy, or Penix. Isn't that more evidence that Belichick might have valued a trade for two more first round picks than drafting Maye at 3?
I’m arguing BB was hyper critical of all the rookies he scouted… that was literally the job ESPN hired him for. He was critical of all of them.
Two QB’s from that class were system fits for him, Drake and McCarthy… he was taking one of them. It was the Patriots biggest need… his words.
I think he would have taken the biggest, strongest, best athlete… my opinion. We have people like you saying no way… it’s laughable. The only reason BB haters are saying he wouldn’t is because McCarthy got hurt and struggled to come back from that. If Drake sucked this wouldn’t even be a conversation. Haters have vivid imaginations where BB was just a tourist the entire dynasty… ask Bob.
