Maybe in a year the TE room is Dippre and Hill. I still think spending a draft pick on the position is prudent. But at least they are likely to get better blocking at TE this year than they did out of Henry and Hooper.

Yeah the perfect size. In fact 6'8" would probably be edging towards not great but 6'4"? geesh
RAS score is based on every TE prospect since they started recording that stuff. 6'4" is fine for a TE, but against all TE in the history of ever, it's probably average to below average.

So we got our blocking TE. With Gilliam being one of the better blocking FBs (some say the best blocking FB) we are obviously gearing up to be a power running team.

Specifically zone running, or they're really going to try to be.

I still worry about trying to run zone stuff to the right.

They need a playmaker at the position. HH is solid but also getting long in the teeth.

Impressive from Hill here. #89

Ok, I’m happy now.

We had a much more difficult time run blocking this season than we should have. So, we went out and -
1) signed one of the best fullbacks in the game
2) swapped out Bradbury and swapped in AVT, moving Wilson to center which is where he had college success and was generally drafted for.
3) Swapped out Hooper (older, less effective Henry clone) for Hill who can do a good job run blocking.

None of these moves are earth shattering in and of themselves, but do move the needle significantly in addressing our weaknesses. The risk is if AVT gets hurt again or if we need Hill to run passing routes, but otherwise don’t really hurt what we did well last year.

15 catches? And one of the tweets above says he's explosive?

Speaking of Tight Ends, anyone want Njoku? And any word if we're interested in him.

He can block but he's not staying engaged with the defender...he's not finishing to the whistle.

This is a must read. Julian Hill just became my binkie. He's going to be the Blocking TE we've been wanting for years. Bank on it.
I thought it might deserve its own thread but was on the fence. Good piece. Seems like he might be a diamond in the rough. Here's hoping!
