With all the complaints about Josh‘s game planning in SB…..

Til first rumor that he only stuck around cause Vrabes promised him Josh‘s job after whenever he tires of & fires him

(Or did I just accidentally start that. Ooops )

I doubt Vrabel would promise him MacDaniel's job, but given the shortage of coordinators who run E-P he may have decided that he needs to stay to completely learn that system inside and out before becoming an offensive coordinator.

Me too... most of the time.

Plus, I'm very bad with names.
Its the off season, things are winding down... in a few weeks, when things start to heat up, i would have looked it up...

We've lost 1 coach this year? the asst OL coach there, whatshisface
The fact that little has been made of it should be telling... the most important coaches are remaining.. this season has done so much for the culture and the overall direction of the franchise.. coaches see reasons to stay and continue to build on this season.

Being OC there might give him the inside track when that happens…

Or maybe that’s a good argument against being their OC?
I believe it's a good argument. Grant knows what success looks like and with his help Drake has ascended to elite..

What's so dam impressive is look at Josh Allen who's the best QB in the league even he hasn't been to the superbowl yet... Drake got there in year 2 with the help of Grant.. coaching means alot.. I also think we got a score with Buffalo opting to keep Brady and promote him to HC..

Re so many remaining…
The other side of coin is IF the league bought into the media hot-take storyline (it was all about the schedule), then in their opinion there aren’t any coaches worth poaching.

Then again; COY & OCOY recognition say that was only a storyline for Drake.

but I think there was potentially a anti-pats factor when folks were looking for staff. Either that schedule nonsense or that many of these guys are in first year in role (at least here) so teams may want to see a consistent resume of success before offering a job.

BL: not complaining. D was awesome, ST above avg, and the one thing O needs is consistency so Drake can learn-grow. So keeping staff is good.

Spot on!.. I'd agree STs was solid but I felt kick coverage could have been much better.. and I believe that stands to improve next season.. we allowed for to many returns beyond the 30..

I know the offense struggled in post season but that was to be expected.. teams have a full 17 games of film and knew how to attack us.. Campbell and Wilson will get stronger and better..

The offense will be become even more multiple with additions and another year in Josh's system.. 28 ppg top 5 in offense nothing for me to complain about.. same for the D.. top 5 in defense and they got even better in the postseason locking offenses down.. additions on defense will happen as well as Kurh being in his second season as DC.and play caller..

This overall staff is still stacked and set up for success going forward

Re coverage improvement.
We were discussing coaching & at this point coaching of ST. I don’t think the coverage lapses were poor coaching.
Individuals making bad plays* for most part. Raising quality of depth players fixes that (I hope).
*Ex: Touching guys in back when tackler was out of play already.

The one maybe bad coaching example was not taking the fair catch in SB at the10-14 & letting it bounce to 3 (& thendidnt refs spot at 2 lol). But who knows, could have been just the player too.

Agreed.. Coaching wasn't the issue it was executing.. on returning punts/kicks we were phenomenal.. losing Gibson hurt the return abilities even though we have an all pro there in Marcus...

It's also not mentioned much.. but Brady is a minority owner just as Seymour is as well for the LVRs.. why don't we ever hear much from Seymour like we do Brady? I mean he is a HOFmer..
Kinda fits Big Sey's personality. He was never much of a talker, never a "look at me" guy.
He was the best defensive player on the 2001-04 dynasty, teams that were loaded with great defensive players.
But Brady was a qb and is the GOAT so its part of his job to talk.
I'm sure Sey talks plenty behind the scenes.

Excellent point. That makes sense.. more of his personality to stay in the background.. from what I have seen on him he's very involved and his role as a minority % owner is growing.

Pretty cool to see this. Apparently he was desired by the Raiders to be their OC, and he turned them down to stay in NE.

Was the last time that someone turned down a job outside of New England when Josh backed out of his deal with the Colts?

Because Seymour isn't the media personality that Brady is.. After his playing days, Sey joined the WSOP. Not sure if he still plays or not..

How about just lazy then…

One could potentially go to Patriots.com and look at the coaches list before posting…..theoretically ….. if you cared….

So, Houghtaling or Kugler??

3 OLCoaches and not one of them could tell Wilson not to stare his man down. Jeeesh, hope they let the right (bad) one go. Haha
Sammy approves of that meme I bet!

OK we'll see.. if a championship coach in Pete Carroll didn't what makes you think kubiak will?
For me it starts with talent on the field and with only 49 players currently signed and 87M in cap space and I think they will upgrade in a lot of areas. Kubiak has a very good offensive system and is a good play caller and play designer, I think Andrew Janoko is a very good coach and his experience with Kubiak will ensure they are on the same page when it comes to working with Mendoza (who will be an upgrade to Geno).

I don't know much about the new DC but honestly it couldn't be much worse for the Raiders. The offense will be vastly improved, but that does not mean a worst to first season.
