Tonga and Hawkins are really the only ones I really want back. Seems like signing Chaisson now would be buying high, and I think they can probably upgrade the edge spot. Chaisson and Jennings were decent but I'd like to see them replaced with better pass rushers.

Hooper was decent but a long term answer at the position through the draft at our second TE would be my preference.

Lowe and Munford's spots as well should be replaced in the draft.

There aren't a ton of needs and the team should have some solid free agent money. I wonder if they go big money on a free agent or a new contract for a traded player then have the rest of the needs filled in the draft.
How is Hooper not a long term answer as an inexpensive, reliable, backup TE?

I agree, plus Munford if he isn’t too expensive.

Might let Hawkins go in the final preseason cuts if we’ve upgraded through FA or draft. Want to evaluate in camp before releasing him.
If we want to get him to camp we would need to sign him, he is a FA

Keep Tonga, based on position he won't break the bank. As for the rest, its a matter of price vs. what FA has to offer. I see there's a lot of Safety's available, but not much for edge and OT. There's a few TE's that would be an upgrade.
Then there's the draft...
Basically all of our FAs are attainable chassion already said he plans to resign here and he'd be wise too with added beef and depth to the edge rush chassion could have an even better season next year.. Tonga absolutely guys a beasts he will resign.. Hawkins had a great season and has turned into one of the best safeties in the league he and Woodson are excellent Together.. I still expect us to draft a FS as well. I've already expressed who I believe at TE we should pursue and who would flourish with Drake and open up the offense.. all pro Kyle Pitts!!

So, we hope Landry comes back healthy. I think we pay Chaisson. I don't think he's going to break the bank. Then we build from there with a FA if we can find someone and a draft pick?
I absolutely love Landry the person and the player.. however Zo was mentioning that the knee injury is worse than initially thought.. with his age, Injury history.. wouldn't be surprised if Landry chose to retire.. Chaisson can flourish with some added beef at edge rusher.. he wouldn't have all the attention he gets now he would be able to have alot more opportunities.

The difference now is Foxboro is now a destination again.. guys want to come here.. Crosby recently stated how he wants to play for Vrabel.. for example.. we will have ample opportunity to add some premium players to the roster.. we need to beef up edge rush for sure..

Very small list of UFA this offseason. But about 5 of the 6 played big roles this year:

Khyiris Tonga
Jaylinn Hawkins
Vederian Lowe
Thayer Munford
K’Lavon Chaisson
Austin Hooper

I think the 3 must keeps for me are Tonga, Hawkins, Lowe. Need Lowe for insurance at LT. Hawkins also is one you almost wonder if you consider a tag for. But I doubt it with how inflated the number is. But he massively impressed me this year.

Chaisson is one I’m open to if it’s for the right price. I don’t want to overpay him, we need to hit big on the edge rush this offseason. Hooper lastly just depends on the market. Wouldn’t be opposed, but also would like to get younger at the position behind Henry. Deep FA market at TE.
Tonga I believe should be resigned and he should come at a reasonable price as a run-stuffing first NT type.

Chaisson should be resigned if he comes back at a reasonable pricetag. If someone gives him a huge deal I would be comfortable letting him walk.

Lowe can be re-signed if he accepts backup money. He's not good enough to deserve more than that.

Hawkins if he's on a reasonable deal, I think it's not hard to upgrade on him.

The rest I can see us letting go.

It might be interesting to go for Njoku to replace Hooper. An Upgrade at TE would be helpful.

I wonder if Chigs from Tennessee would be another guy we’d look at. Has Vrabel ties, and capable of playing Hback role.

We are going to reward good players who perform.. chassion has been excellent this year and really was amazing in the post season.. he re- signs.. 3 year deal.. 24 million I can see.. with the health/performance of Campbell I'd say Lowe is a important player to want to retain.

At TE.. Pitts is who I like..

We definitely need to do something at the TE position.

Absolutely... Henry is a good player..but we need more at the position.. Pitts is the guy that's dynamic and can really open up the offense next season.. it will keep defenses from playing 2 high safeties.. remember how Hernandez used to terrorize.... defenses..?

I'm a fan of a big old blocking tight end.
