It's a possibilityWe need to keep him as our starting LT so we can move Will Campbell inside to LG.
jk. Maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to keep Lowe as camp competition and as a good backup, but I think he's going to get priced out and they're not ready to pay him a starter's salary if they think Campbell can come back to his pre-injury level. It's a possibility
He will be 4 years 48 / 20 mill guaranteedI wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to keep Lowe as camp competition and as a good backup, but I think he's going to get priced out and they're not ready to pay him a starter's salary if they think Campbell can come back to his pre-injury level.
That might be worth it to keep around as a capable backup, especially as it's tough to tell what they think of Wallace or Bryant. He will be 4 years 48 / 20 mill guaranteed
I just don’t know if Lowe will get paid.I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to keep Lowe as camp competition and as a good backup, but I think he's going to get priced out and they're not ready to pay him a starter's salary if they think Campbell can come back to his pre-injury level.
True, but considering what the Chargers went through, I could see there being a big market even for capable backup tackles. And he's shown that with better coaching, Lowe is much better than the dumpster fire he was in 2024.I just don’t know if Lowe will get paid.
I think people are using the Jaylon Moore comp. But Moore played at a higher level with more snaps. Not sure Lowe’s done enough for someone to go hand him 15 million a year.
We’re bit spoiled because we also have Marcus Bryant. It’s clear to me we need to upgrade LG. I don’t care whether that means moving Wilson to Center or benching him.I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to keep Lowe as camp competition and as a good backup, but I think he's going to get priced out and they're not ready to pay him a starter's salary if they think Campbell can come back to his pre-injury level.
It seems like they don't want a swing tackle. They want a backup LT and a backup RT. We'll see if that thought process changes, but it was certainly the case this last season. We’re bit spoiled because we also have Marcus Bryant. It’s clear to me we need to upgrade LG. The best way to upgrade our pass rush is to get LBs that can pass rush situationally. Modern pressure is much more dynamic. We’re so predictable up front because of lacking multi-dimensional LBs. We need a modern Donta Hightower but with a bit more speed at the cost of slightly less strength.I’d love to keep Chaisson and replace Landry with some blue chip rusher. But just seems less realistic

I see sooooooooo many people here tout Marcus Bryant and I just don't get it. Am I missing something? He made the team as a late round pick so obviously they see some potential in him but he ended the year as the 5th OT on the roster after being 4th most of the year. There was an injury (Campbell) that could have elevated him to a key depth role as the backup OT and they signed a vet off someone else's practice squad instead (Munford). Then once Campbell came back they still kept Munford and relegated Bryant to 5th.We’re bit spoiled because we also have Marcus Bryant. It’s clear to me we need to upgrade LG. He has a lot of upside potential, especially at RT with his size. But we signed Moses in FA and Moses is still better. Also starting 3 rookies is a recipe for disaster against blitz pick up.I see sooooooooo many people here tout Marcus Bryant and I just don't get it. Am I missing something? I just don't get why he's being talked about as someone who's in the running to be a starter long term as opposed to someone who should be in competition for a roster spot at all, much less a key role. Everything about he was used (or rather, NOT used) this year points to a roster bubble type of guy, nothing more. I don't get in any way how we're "spoiled" to have him.
I do wonder if they think Munford is a better investment than Bryant going forward? Their use of him sort of suggests that. if they can get Munford back cheap, they might like that camp competition. He has a lot of upside potential, especially at RT with his size. LOLwell then he better take a pay cut. After an excellent start he's tailed off. And I know hes not been healthy. But still
I liked what I saw of Bryant. I was disappointed that he was never active for the playoffs. That might be worth it to keep around as a capable backup, especially as it's tough to tell what they think of Wallace or Bryant.
Hooper has to go.Very small list of UFA this offseason. But about 5 of the 6 played big roles this year:
Khyiris Tonga
Jaylinn Hawkins
Vederian Lowe
Thayer Munford
K’Lavon Chaisson
Austin Hooper
I think the 3 must keeps for me are Tonga, Hawkins, Lowe. Need Lowe for insurance at LT. Hawkins also is one you almost wonder if you consider a tag for. But I doubt it with how inflated the number is. But he massively impressed me this year.
Chaisson is one I’m open to if it’s for the right price. I don’t want to overpay him, we need to hit big on the edge rush this offseason. Hooper lastly just depends on the market. Wouldn’t be opposed, but also would like to get younger at the position behind Henry. Deep FA market at TE.
Improving the TEs would be great. I think Maye looks for tall receivers, so big TEs might be a way to strengthen the receiving corps without finding a new WR1.Hooper has to go.
I think you mean a pick that didn't work out, perhaps made worse by injury. But, yes, in hindsight, the more than half that don't work out were wasted picks.I liked what I saw of Bryant. I was disappointed that he was never active for the playoffs.
Wallace looks like a wasted pick.
