The biggest thing with Campbell is we haven't really seen many LTs drop 4 stinkers in a row like that then go on to be a good LT.

It's going to be really hard for Campbell to win over fans cause all it takes is one bad play a game and people will be on his case while he's at LT where as for Drake you've seen it a bunch with QBs in the playoffs who get hit and fall apart and come back the next year and play great many of them go on to win championships.

Campbell can be perfect for 3-4 games and gives up a 2/3 sack game and everyone will be here goes Campbell again can't handle the elite pass rushers, once you get a bad rep as an OL it's hard to shake it.
Campbell shut out Bonito. How was that a stinker?
Campbells job is not to win over fans.

Maybe something happened and McDaniels had no choice but to be conservative. Maye’s play has fallen off a cliff in the post season
Is it just me or do his deep balls look a lot more strange. More effort, way more arc. I thought he flicked the ball with great accuracy throughout the season. Will be interested to see if some news comes out about an injury.

It starts up front. We need to build a wall around Maye. Look what Chicago did for Caleb last offseason and how his play improved. Maye still has his warts holding the ball too long but we need our qb to be 100% confident in his pass protection.

One thing that I feel was a missed opportunity was how much Seattle blitzed in the first half. We never made them pay for it once.

That's fine. But realize that most teams in the position we are in don't actually improve or come back. It's the exception not the rule
Guess we will see.

Don't know but to not even call any QB designed runs when they couldn't move the ball and clearly Drake was nervous blows my mind.

The offensive game plan seemed to be founded on the idea that, for no discernable reason, the OL would suddenly start blocking well.

This is the karma we get for bashing Tom and also Maye took pointer from Peyton ****ing Manning the signs were there lol

Maye's pocket awareness and poise were terrible tonight. I think the magnitude of the game got to him.

He was like that all through out the playoffs. I just need some sort of explanation for why he freezes up when he has an eternity to get rid of the ball? Even my sister in law, who is newer to football, was saying to just throw it away… and she doesn’t even understand the game the way we do.

He had plenty of time and just stood like a statue… waiting. Didn’t even attempt to scramble!

And Drake had such a high success rate against the Blitz. But I guess when your OL can't even block 4 a blitz becomes devastating...

That needs a major asterisk the Pats barely threw the ball and it was played in a complete blizzard for a half.

Most of the second half was just running into the line and punting.

I’m curious to see how much Seattle blitzed after the first half. It felt like a freebie gamble that they were happy to be up ahead on after not being punished for it once. If we had called a single draw or made a quick completion…

Offensive line needs better scheming. The left side needs to be looked at. I do think Will needs to move over and get someone from FA to fill the left side.
The problem is the combo of Campbell + Wilson, just like Wynn + Onwenu didn't work in 2021. I don't know what the best solution is here, but I suspect the most feasible solution is Campbell/LG/Wilson.

There was a one play where Maye had a ton of time and just sort of kept inching up into the blocking until he leaned right into a defender who sacked him. I really don't get stuff like that.

Maye is more talented than Darnold, but we probably have a good shot at winning that game if Maye had the same pocket awareness Darnold showed when he was under pressure

Heads up. It was a great season and one to build off of. As Pats fans we have no right to complain. Better team won.

As for next year - it’s pretty clear we lack game changing talent on the offensive side. Upgrades needed on the line and in the receiving corp. Drake has many improvements to make as well but that’s normal being 23 year old in his second year. We overachieved this year and next year may be a slap of reality, but I hope we can continue to build the talent level underlying and have a truly dominant squad while Drake is still on his rookie deal.

Yes, but the OL didn't help him much. The offense was just outmanned.

There were plenty of plays where Maye just stood around and didn’t bother throwing. Don’t get me wrong, Darnold was inept too, but he at least knew to get rid of the ball, even if it was incomplete

Jeez already writing off next season?!?!

I know, I know it was a typo. Or WAS IT?!
I think it's fair. Typically very few teams come back from such a loss in SB. Remember 2015 Seahawks or falcons.

But again we have a young QB with high potential but too many aged veterans who punched above their weight and a schedule that was super lenient for us in regular season that helped mask these gaps .

We had the same gap in post season but weather and crappier QB play by opponents saved us.

We had a defense that rivalled Seahawks but Maye and the offensive line was too offensive and just handed 17 points on a platter to them.

Maye mental clock has to be reset and we need to get younger in WR, TE and Oline . We managed with a patchwork crew. Next season it will be all new crew . So obviously will go down.

And defenses know how to attack Maye. If Maye does not have check down charlie mode next season , he is dead in water.
