I see people clowning on media types for pointing out how weak our schedule has been, it's true. Our regular season schedule was very weak.

We have played 3 really tough defenses in the playoffs, but in reality those 3 teams had severe issues and honestly was not super difficult because of the lack of offense those teams provided.

Our defense had a lot to do with those offenses not performing well, this is true along with the weak schedule. People are acting like its one or the other. Both things are true, the Pats have had a charmed season based on the matchups they have faced. The Pats are also a very good football team. Again both things can be and are true.

Pats fans, when someone points out one thing it does not take away from the other. Please stop getting panties in a twist if someone points out how easy the path to the SB has been. It makes you look like you don't understand football. All my non Patriot friends keep telling me how easy the path has been and I tell them they are right, but it does not take away from how good the team actually is. This team takes advantage of bad football and not all teams are capable of that.
What makes one look like they 'don't understand football', is when one parrots the talking heads bog standard takes. They're the same takes every year.

"Pats fans" have been very fortunate to watch extremely high-level football here for the better part of 30 years. We know *exactly* what we're looking at.

After all this time, the talking heads still don't know what they're talking about, and only say the most relatable things to the casual fans.

Thankfully, Rhamondre didn't pull a Faulk and drop the ball.

There was one run where he was powering forward into a crowd of Broncos and it took so long for him to go down, I was worried.

I don't think he is good at adjustments
And there are people who know much more than you or I have paid him a LOT of money for the last quarter of a century who believe you are really, REALLY wrong in what you think. That and a LOT of definitive evidence.

BTW- Every fan sits in front of his TV and yells at his screen when he disagrees with a call that's made. I do it every time Josh lines up in a shot gun on 3rd and 3 and give up the possibility of a run by alignment. I've been complaining about this for 20 years. But we all do that, with every OC that graces our presence. It's part of the nature of being a sport fans. We all have a right to express our opinion, but we SHOULD know that those opinions are based on a vast amount of knowledge LESS than what that OC is basing his decision.

I would wager that give my 25+ years of coaching and playing the game, I know a lot more of the game than most. Well compared to an NFL professional, I might know about 4% of what the guy I'm complaining about at the time knows. and less that that when you think about other things he has privy to, like injury status, what the other team is doing, etc., etc., etc.

I'm not telling you NOT to complain or whine at a call, I'm just asking you keep some of the stuff you DON'T know in mind sometimes.

How many "meh" playcalls did McDaniels call through the years that Brady either successfully executed anyways or changed on the fly? I ask myself this because sans Brady, he seems to really struggle when it comes to adjusting against great or elite defenses.

... His playcalling has been relatively flawless. You cannot blame him for execution or weather, and this is simply what it looks like for our team to face stifling, stifling defenses. I'm not sure what else you're expecting. We won this game almost purely off the coaching superiority.

He has done a great job at adapting, and is very comfortable obliterating chunks of time with the lead in the second half. He's been doing it all year with great success. He's great at squeezing value out of stalled drives if anything just by draining the play clock and keeping the other offense out of rhythm. He dials up great plays when in a pinch and seemingly had a ****ing endless pit of tricky **** to pull out this post-season.

I used to be someone who got annoyed with McDaniels calling a bunch of what felt like boring **** for 1st/2nd (run? Screen?) and then I wisened up and realized why it's the mark of a great coach that commits to the absolute necessary balance of run/pass, when most would make the mistake that all defenses want you to make: just haphazardly throw to get back into the game.

Me: What? No, not a flea flicker.....

(Hollins catches the ball)

Yeah, great call!

I was shocked that the Broncos decided to go for it on that early 4th down, you always make it a two score game if you can. When the Pats were in the same situation (to take the lead), Vrabel didn't hesitate to send out the FG unit. My buddy who was watching the game with me said, those might be the last points scored in this game.

I don't care what Maye's stats were, the most important one is ZERO turnovers! It was clear in the second half the Denver was not going to be able to score without the benefit of a turnover. You don't play to amass stats..

Say it Herm..

You Play to win the game!

SB 42 & these past three games. He has not been very good. People on the GDT were calling him out.
You actually cited GDT as if posts there are serious!?!?!?!?!?!?

I just busted my gut worse than Mack Hollins laughing at that!

We'll, I don't know about the "meh" play calls because we don't don't what the original play was. However, Brady told Shaq on his podcast that he learned the Pats offense within a few days when he was a rookie. By the time McDaniels was elevated to play caller/OC, Tom was a 3 time Super Bowl Champion. So, he was basically running Brady's offense and you still see it today. In fact, Derek Carr said McDaniels told him that Brady "bullied" him in NE. I have no idea why McDaniels would tell him this.

In terms of teams McDaniels/Brady had a hard time adjusting to, there were surprisingly many. Denver 2005-2006, Giants 2007 & 2011, Baltimore 2009-2012, Jets 2009-2010. Baltimore 2014, Seattle 2014, Atlanta 2016 and Jacksonville 2017 were the big games Tom/McDaniels came back from. Houston gave him some trouble one year I don't forget which, but the Pats pulled away.

With that said, McDaniels has done a great job rehabbing his image.

Fair points

It's a fair argument, until the playoffs rolls around. The pretenders most likely lose their first playoff game once they get hit in the mouth. The Pats took many punches, but punched harder. They are for real.

Interesting...watching the trophy presentation again (that trophy looks like something out of a flag football contest) and one thing sticks out.

Jonathan Kraft looks like he was out of there. Like hes in line at the DMV.

Watching the end again…that bootleg playcall was ****ing ballsy
My friend isn't a Pats fan and he called a naked bootleg. I wasn't feeling good about that until Maye got to the edge.

Everybody was saying that the snow benefits the offense, but that is not necessarily true IMO.

The NE WRs and TE were not able to make cuts yesterday and get open. Stidham picked the wrong DB to throw at on his INT. Gonzo was all over that Denver WR. Payton played field position (just like Parcells) throughout the game and the Pats were in a hole all day.
The more I look at that play. Stidham really had no pressure on him and casually just lobbed the throw like you would to a man wide open. I truthfully believe he did not see Gonzo with the whiteout conditions
