Opening this up as we turn the page to next Sunday's showdown out in Denver.

This is the Patriots' first season since 1992 that their roster had no players who won, or would go on to win, a Super Bowl with the Patriots. This is the primary reason we have to win the next two games. Furthermore, this is the first season since 1970 when they were the Boston Patriots that their roster is not made up of anyone who went to any of their 11 Super Bowls.

Of course, for our first 11 seasons, as the Boston Patriots (1960-1970), we had players on the roster who played in the AFL Championship Game of 1963.

It might be a bit difficult to find, but many years ago now I did a Six Degrees Of Patriots Separation thread with player links through the generations. Bruce Armstrong was teammates with Julius Adams and Tom Brady!!!

A lot of talk about the QB situation for the broncos but their pass catchers are underwhelming. They are worse than the chargers IMO. For reference, Diggs is 12th in the NFL with a 2.22 YPRR & Boutte, Hollins & Henry are all above 1.5.

Sutton - Low end WR1, 1.59 YPRR, 94.1 passer rating when targeted
Franklin - Inconsistent WR2, 1.42 YPRR, 87.4 passer rating when targeted
Bryant - Day 3 rookie WR, 1.31 YPRR, 74.6 passer rating when targeted
Mims - gadget player, had a good game vs. bills. 1.33 YPRR, 106.3 passer rating when targeted
Engram - Hasn't been the same player in years. 1.20 YPRR, 84.7 passer rating when targeted
Dobbins isn't a receiving RB, Harvey's shown some ability but isn't on the field on 3rd downs usually

A good amount of the pressure in the chargers & texans games came from the pats blanketing their passing game. They should be able to do the same against the broncos.

I'm off this Friday morning, so I caught ESPN's Get Up and First Take. First Take gave a little more respect but basically spent no time on the game while focusing on the NFCCG.

Now, Get Up not only spent most of its time on NFCCG, but the panel universally is in Denver's corner, with Bart Pat Hater Scott obviously ridiculing the team that always made him cry.

Very little respect for Maye, comments about how Campbell is not an NFL LT, they even dissed Boutte (and actually CB D Stinlgey in a backhanded way). They said that Boutte can talk about "Cancun" all he wants but Denver will take him away by bracketin g the best Patriots receiver Diggs with 2 guys and putting their best CB Surtain on Boutte to eliminate him.

Problem is who then gets Diggs? Hollins if he plays? Pats have more weapons than they do good defenders.

LAC have Stingley and Lassiter. Broncos do not have that.

LAC have Stingley and Lassiter. Broncos do not have that.

But oddly Diggs loves those pockets.

You can't give Diggs any space to operate.
