Patriots Injury News Carlton Davis in concussion protocol

The only "insider" knowledge that I have is that if the Sky Doctor calls down regarding a "potential concussion" the team must have the player leave the field and go to the locker room for an "evaluation".. In Gonzo's case, he legit hit his head, but he didn't need help getting up, was checked by the sideline staff and went to the bench. In Davis case, he asked for help to get up like players do on every play. He didn't actually take a hit to the head. Went to the sidelines. Was on the bench. Again, Sky doctor called down.

I dunno, as soon as he got up, I feel like I remember him looking a lil out of it.

However, to confirm Vrabel's comment:

He's practicing, red jersey. Good first step!

Maybe it's just me but every time I see Woods involved in a pass play, he is trailing, not competing. Please prove me wrong, but this is a significant weakness going in.

I thought I saw that too but I wear those^ kind of glasses.

Davis seems on track to play as long as he’s symptom free, so the Pats should be fine. But to the larger point, not all concussions are caused by hits to the head, it’s quite possible that the force of Davis landing caused his brain to slosh and impact his cranium and he showed light symptoms.

No fly zone.

I would love Mac back also
If I were to only pic one to have back it would be Davis

He seems to run the gauntlet every week. Good play, bad play, injury, repeat.
Just not worth what we’re paying him. Plus he’ll be 30 next year. I’d rather look elsewhere.

I think dead cap is a lot .

Next year will be the last for

Diggs
Davis
Henry
Hollins

Onwenu might also not be here in 2027 . So we need to get suitable replacements for all these 5 in draft or FA.

We might pay slightly above vet minimum in 2027 for above but nothing major as that will be the year when we need to pay gonzo his franchise tag or extension money.

So we need to make sure we have suitable replacements . Wr and CB we can find gems in 3rd and 4th rounds if we scout properly. First 2 rounds just take BPA whomsoever is available.

Thanks!

The great news is he’s on track to play Sunday. Maybe they were being extra cautious but it’s entirely what he was concussed even though he didn’t get his head smacked on the turf. It doesn’t take much to get the brain to slosh around and hit the inside of the skull, really any kind of sudden shift in motion can do it.

That's worrisome. He's penalty-prove, but a real asset (and as fragile as Italian stemware [Huh?])
How to say you are unfamiliar with Murano glass without saying you don’t know glass at all.

Murano has been a world class glassmaking center since the days when the Doge imposed a death sentence on any gaffer who tried to abscond with trade secrets. Murano glass is generally recognizable because it is excessively frilly and delicate. I have a few pieces in my art glass collection. They’re really neat.

Miles Automatic Austin would make Stidham look like the second coming of Tom Brady. I'm not looking forward to that.
Saw a suggestion that the Pats should sign the FA CB just released by the Pack. Trevon Diggs.

I wonder if he’d be willing to sign to our PS?

In keeping with the spirit of a sports forum, I'm gonna say my art glass collection is bigger than your art glass collection.

It probably isn't, being just a few Swedish pieces - engraved bud vases and so on - I bought for my wife, who is strangely obsessed, given her Hungarian background, with all things Swedish, but exaggeration in such matters is De Rigueur.

And for the record, I have nothing against Italians who, though flighty and somewhat noisy, are an amusing and colorful people.

Didn't he sign with the Packers?

After next season they can cut him with no dead money so I assume he's back next year and they draft someone to slide into that number two outside corner role to develop. I am right in the middle with Davis. I think he's a capable corner but highly dependent on what type of receiver he is matched up with.

completely disagree

he's giving exactly what we paid for, his performance this year is on par with/above his career numbers - he gets attacked a lot because he is opposite gonzo

The Packers just released him, a couple of days ago. Their season is over, guess they have no intention of making part of their future.

You don’t strike me as sufficiently obsessive to be a competitive collector. Whereas growing up near a famous art glass factory channeled those instincts at a very early age.

Swedish glass has its own aesthetic. I like it but don’t collect it. Does your wife know about Hungarian and especially Bohemian glass? They have a long tradition of really nice work, from factories like Moser and Loetz. I only have one piece attributed to Loetz that’s beautiful, one of their Phänomen designs. Recently picked up a nice deco piece that I suspect may be from that part of the world just from style but that’s very inconclusive so no attribution (yet).

“Amusing and colorful” is a good description of Murano glass btw. Well said, as usual.

Michael OnWenu have been our Best Guard if you haven't noticed. Also remember when Rham had those recurring troubles: we wanted him replaced: now he's our Best all purpose RB.

Generally agree.
But I’m greedy. I’d like to see them draft a candidate to push Gonzo down to CB2. Unrealistic but would give us a lockdown secondary. Realistically I’d love to see a youngster who can step in and fill Davis’s shoes to start, with potential to develop even beyond that in a few years. Even that opposite Gonzo would be a massive cornerstone for the D.
