Bills got ballwashed...they're in Cancun.
Jags got ballwashed...they're in Cancun.
49ers got ballwashed...they're in Cancun.
Texans got ballwashed...they're in Cancun.

Pats got disrespected...they're in pads in the polar vortex of Foxboro with a flight booked to the world's weirdest airport.

I'm good with it.
Ignored, disrespected, dismissed, and soon to be hated by everyone.

It's a comfortable place to be.

The best defense in the playoffs has been the Patriots, and it's not even close. Drake Maye in a rain/sleet/snowstorm, in a game where he struggled in the first half - put up the only 3 passing TD game against the Texans all year.

"Easy schedule" is ******** - the two easiest schedules in the league face off in the AFCCG.

Hopefully people learn to trust their eyes again - and stop letting ESPN and Sports Radio shape their narratives. Both of these teams are good. Flawed, it's not stacked with 45 all-pros a side, but they're both good, and proved it week in, week out. Fantasy football is not actual football.

Two best teams in the conference face off Sunday. Should be a good one. And like Steph Diggs said, "I like us."

Also one more thing - zero people are mentioning that the Patriots are undefeated on the road. It's one thing to be a *good* road team, it's another thing entirely to be undefeated.

We need to be aggressive at the start of the game - we need to start fast. We do not want Stidham and Denver to settle into the game. We want Stidham to feel the pressure to keep up from the get go. Make him uncomfortable right away.

Easier said than done, that Broncos offensive line is an excellent pass protecting line, except at center.

I am curious to see how the Patriots attack on defense though - will they keep up their blitzing, or will they try to force tight-window throws from Stidham (getting decent push up the middle) and play coverage?

Not talking so much about a pass rush, rather getting ahead. Put Stidham in a hole on the scoreboard. No feeling each other out. We got an early TD last week before Texans’ D had settled in.

For months now, there has been apprehension on local sports talk radio regarding the Patriots' chances playing at Denver in the AFCCG. Historically, this is well founded, as those Patriots teams which lost there in the playoffs were arguably better but self-destructed in ignominious fashion, eliminating themselves with multiple self-inflicted wounds.

On 1/4/87 The 11-5 Patriots headed into 11-5 Denver as defending AFC champions and with more playoff and Super Bowl experience than anyone left in the tournament after young Doug Flutie was thrown to the wolves against the Redskins in Chicago. The Patriots valiantly and uncharacteristically, for that season, ran for 121 yards and passed the ball well including two long Stanley Morgan touchdown catches and picked off John Elway twice. Alas, they collapsed under the shower of six sacks of Tony Eason, including Rulon Jones' game ending safety. Berry never learned.
In the divisional The 2005 team was injured ravaged on defense and had good players but aging on defense and offense.. was in it until the champ Bailey INT
Actually, the Patriots' defense led the league the second half of the season, and the offense was more than adequate with Corey Dillon only a bit banged up. Again, they had more experience than anyone and arguably more talent. Alas, the Patriots (Belichick and Brady included) approached, prepared for and played this game on 1/14/06 with the kind of pitiful, loser attitude reminiscent of their Clive Rush and Rod Rust predecessors. Rodney Harrison sat home in Atlanta watching as the Patriots displayed a lack of focus, determination and effort (despite Ben Watson) totally undeserving of a prospective champion, let alone a three-peat contender, ultimately collapsing under an avalanche of turnovers.
In The AFCCG the 2013 team had Austin collie at WR and a solid defense but Talib tapped out with injury.. in game.. that changed everything..
On 1/19/14, LeGarrette Blount had five(5) total carries all day, the Patriots with 16 as a team. All their effectiveness in the rest of the phases of the game were wasted. The excuse that they fell behind is not legitimate. They got down by 10, not 21.
In The 2015 AFCCG that team what a weird game.. LB Jaime Collins forgot how to cover a TE and Gostowski misses a PAT.. this one here is the one that really eats me up the most.. we should have won..
Bill Belichick is human, and thus capable of error, and he whipped out a couple whoppers on this day alone. Adam Vinatieri often would miss early in a game, but make it at the end in the clutch. Belichick did not give Stephen Gostkowski that chance, despite Ghost holding the NFL record for most consecutive extra points made (523) and most seasons leading league in points scored: 5 (2008, 2012–2015; tied with Don Hutson and Gino Cappelletti). On 1/24/16, after missing an extra point in the first quarter, Ghost had already made FG's of 46 and 38 yards.

Down 8 points with 6:03 left in the fourth quarter, with a porous offensive line, Belichick eschewed a 33-yard FG attempt by going for it on 4th and 1. Not even Tom Brady could overcome leaving three points off the board.

Then, still down 8 with 2:25 left Brady got down to 4th and six at the Broncos' 14 yard line. Unbelievably, again, eschewing a 31-yard FG attempt, Belichick went for it and again not even Tom Brady could overcome it.

So the touchdown pass Tom threw to Gronk with 17 seconds left did not win the game.

Clearly, the Patriots' primary objective on Sunday should be to not beat themselves.

Those cover zero blitzes didnt work even with stroud. they blitzed him unecessarily . I hope they dont play that vs denver thinking its stidham. wil play right into their hands.

It would be hilarious if we go to Mile High and win then play the Rams with their MVP QB and win with a 2nd year Drake Maye having a GW field goal drive to end the game...

Denver plays a lot of man to man with good cover corners . this is going to be different. maye's big strength is with zone coverage. They are going to come after maye and on the road this is going to be lot harder on the offensive line.

Never understood the Matt Flynn game. Was Bill that ****ing stubborn back then too? No adjustments.

I sure hope we can get some pressure on Stidham. Pass rush has been wanting. There were plays where Stroud had all day. Hoping this doesn't happen on Sunday.
TOP in the Flynn game

GB 40:48
NE 19:12

I remember being so damn aggravated

Denver weather on Sunday sun 40 H - 30 L.

Thats not bad at all.

Is Denver down to their third center? I feel this will be a key factor in the game.

Maye is going to pitch a beauty.

This is why, if they win it all or even get to the Superbowl, no one can point to the easy schedule argument anymore.

Because no quarterback in history has ever had to face a murderers row of defenses like this to get to the big show.

And, just for good measure, they would probably have to defeat another one in Seattle to win it all.
