What's sad is that Ahmed could have just admitted to being wrong and ended it. But Ahmed doesn't understand that his calling Stroud pathetic for engaging in an act of religion with others of his religion, regardless of which team they play for, makes Ahmed the issue. Not Stroud. Just like Ahmed doesn't understand that you can't separate the Religious act out of the situation.

Perhaps not, but IMO Ahmed's criticism would have been wrong even without the religious element.

Imagine it were the practice of groups of players from both teams to come together after games for a totally secular reason. Say, players whose lives had been affected by cancer gathered for mutual support and to raise awareness for cancer research. Then imagine saying that a player isn't a leader because he still showed up to do that despite a painful loss. I think that would be a ridiculous attack.

Competitive fire is important. Refusing to gather for a non-football ritual because you lost isn't that.
