Article on Hollins working with Chism

Yeah, Pop was my guess too. Boutte is an interesting option, especially if they think Kyle Williams can take that role and be even better. There's also the chance that things go really bad with Diggs' legal problems and they decide to move on.

I think they're looking less for a Boutte-type receiver and more of the Edelman, Welker, Diggs type, who can just constantly be moving the chains. But Drake plays a lot differently than Brady did.
I wouldn't be so quick to move on from Boutte though I really like Kyle Williams. Also another Year in McDaniels Offense might fully unlock Pop Douglas. We have Kayshon Boutte and Pop on the books for another year. Chism was a good UDFA pickup. That said they're some nice Big Wide Receivers available in the upcoming Draft,: I want a 6'2 and up Boundary Guy.

Chism reminds me so much of Edelman. He made the right decision to sign with the Patriots, iirc he had 6 other offers. Vrabel is committed to developing young players who commit to doing the work, and he's the kind of guy who is willing to do everything it takes to become a good NFL player.
Huck: I think Chism's ceiling is more Danny Amendola: not the fastest or quickest but solid move the chain guy. Only Prime Wes Welker was more quicker than Edelman getting open.

Assuming they want to get another WR somewhere next offseason, who is the odd man out in 2026? Or are we set at WR for next season?
Diggs could very well be a goner.

This whole Chef thing was so easily avoided, but he had to go full AB and drag the team into it. The Pats success or failure in this post season is hitched to what happens to Diggs.

I noticed pretty quickly that Chism was definitely playing Hollins’ role. He was running similar routes, he was blocking outside… I especially thought the blocking was a surprise since Hollins obviously has a big size advantage but I also thought Chism was blocking quite well.

I know we all had Chism noted as a pure slot guy but that might’ve been premature. Which is good, because you really need to be flexible to be truly successful in McDaniels’ offense. Josh would prefer to kill you with three B or C tier talent guys he can move all over the place rather than three higher talent guys that are tightly restricted to one spot and are more easily game-planned against.
The key to getting on Mayes good side is catching the ball. Just like Brady.

That was a sweet TD catch by Chism.

Vrabel seems to like him: I think the Diggs situation is less complicated than Barmore's.

@Triumph I wonder if Pittsburgh would've move on from DK Metcalf after his latest shenanigans?? Could possibly cost them a playoffs berth. Big Boundary WR you guys know me.

He reminds me of Edelman.

There's an interesting tidbit on Chism's TD.

Here's what I don't understand. Chism has been great on Fridays, Vrabel even said that he scores all the time on Fridays. The Patriots have struggled in the red zone all season. So why haven't they been using Chism in the red zone?

They are the same.

Diggs choked and Barmore threw to the ground.
Barmore's lady went to the Cops immediately Diggs Chef didn't. No camera evidence or anything almost a Month after the fact.

We let's hope they use Him in the Playoffs.

Boutte is more of a possession receiver outside the hashes, Williams is a deep threat. They have both for another season so there's no need to move either.

Then how could you have come to the conclusion that he reminds you of Amendola?
Not being the Fastest or Quickest. I always thought Danny Amendola was a level below Welker/Edelman.

Chasm's quickness and ability to change directions and lose defenders is like Edelman and Welker.

Ok I'll be watching real closely again.

Danny is probably the closest athlete to Chism but Welker is similar to both.

Edelman had unique quickness for his size, he was larger than any of these other guys.

Amendola just couldn’t stay healthy. Chism seems like a tough guy, he likes the physicality.

Deion Branch was the quickest of them all… he was absurdly quick. It’s too bad he left as a free agent but he also dealt with injuries.

Right, I would keep them both. So move on from Pop?
