Pursuit of the Bye (1st Seed)

So far things are shaping up as expected, minus the Jones injury, never want to see that. But that team is now looking at 8-9 most likely, maybe 9-8 if they can steal one. The Colts are out.

The resurrected Jags have an outside shot with the Jets, Broncos, Colts and Titans remaining on their schedule. They could help us by beating the Broncos, but I'm leaning towards a loss in that one and 12-5.

Win out and they will get it. Although I'm not sure i want them going into the playoffs on a 15 game win streak.

I had that same mindset in 2001 and 2003. Probably still have it lingering around somewhere. Won't talk about 2007.

Yep. It's a strange way to look at things but it's still a consideration.

To put you a bit more at ease, you know you don't have to suit up for games, right?
I do. My Willie McGinest jersey for home games and a #50 with my name but honoring Sam Hunt for away games. I've been inactive due to injury.

Nfl people nationally have the highest probability of making it with 10 wins... this game Sunday is pivotal. Need to get to 10 wins first and foremost...

And do you get a trophy for getting to 10 wins first?

As far as

1) getting into the playoffs, the game has almost zero importance for either team.

2) as possibly winning the division, this game is critical for BUF.

3) as far as general seeding, I don't care as long as we win the division.

4) as for as the bye, the game is important to us.

You don't. Nevermind Buffalo this game is important for the NE patriots. We are the team that has been on the losing end past few years. The bills have won the division past 5 seasons.

The patriots have all the motivation in the world to win Sunday.

Your 3rd point is so important. It doesn't matter the seeding just get the division and see where things end up the next 3 weeks.

Texans D is very impressive. Thankfully their O is not great, and Stroud is Jeckyl & Hyde.
But I'd still be more nervous facing them round 1 than all but KC & BUF

I want to throw a question out there. Let's assume the Pats beat the Bills... then they are in a good position to win out. 15-2 should be the first seed as Denver with their tough road is very likely to drop one.

But what if they drop 2 of the next 3? It be possible.

Then we enter week 18 with nothing to play for and a buy. How much do you play your starters? Keep in mind a lot of this team is young. I know you will limit snaps a little... but how much? It probably won't happen, but it doesn't seem impossible.

Pats get pass the Bills then they should be heavy favorites the rest of the way. Denver gets GB, Jag, @ KC They might lose 2 of those.

I would hate for us to face Houston with that Defense so I want the #1 seed. It's no treat being the #2 seed and have to face that Houston D. Yeah they're for Real!

Regarding Buffalo 28-31 points should get it done. If we can't muster more than that we'll probably lose.

For me, this is straightforward. I look at our bench this past week with Williams, Campbell, Wilson and Tonga out. Which of these should we want in for their normal number of reps so that they can risk injury in a meaningless game for both teams?

The Colts need to go at least 2–2 in their last four games to have a 50/50ish shot. Unfortunately their remaining opponents are SEA, SF, JAX, and HOU.

Unless Rivers spent the fall at the fountain of youth...I can't believe they are signing him. That is insane.
