RKK HOF Semi-Finalist [12/3 update: finalist]

If they both get in, anyone else thinking we will be playing in the HoF game this year?

woulda been cool if the three heads of the New England Hydra were all eligible in the same year
They should also elect Stanley Morgan from the senior group so that we have 4 Patriots go in at the same time.

All 4 are very deserving.

I think this is the year that Kraft finally gets in. I mean he is 84 years old and will be 85 when they have the next ceremony. I think they will want him to get in before he dies of old age. He was clearly penalized by the hatred of the Patriots, but I think enough time has passed from the Belichick era for them to let him in. Besides, perceptions are now more about Belichick being the reason the Pats were hated than Kraft because of Belichick's actions in recent years.

The senior committee is part of the contributor slate, limited to 3 max... that one be one hell of a slate though... all three slots filled by Patriots?

Bill released a statement on being a finalist

Poetic if RKK has to share the limelight with BB.

They shouldn’t put any of them in together. They deserve to be the sole focus in their year.
26 Belichick
27 Gronk
28 Brady

Thank you Mr.Kraft for quickly realizing your mistake and making course correction in time and for ensuring that we draft a QB at 3 irrespective of trade offers.

It should not be lost on all of us that we owe it to Kraft for letting go of Mayo and getting in Vrabel. Not a easy decision to swallow pride, accept mistake and cut the losses. Not many owners can do what Mr.Kraft did.

If we win the Superbowl or even go to afc championship this year , kraft should get into the HOF .

He could have hired Vrabel last year. Let’s not pay him in the back for screwing up because he got a second chance.

Belichick isn't making any new friends in NC right now. The word on the UNC forum in Chapel Hill is that UNC will pay the Pro Football HOF Bill's guaranteed money if they put him in but don't let him out!

"Relax," said the Night Man, "We are programmed to receive. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!"

Last year after Xmas. Probably roughly the same time.
Where did Rodney go? I thought he was still on the list at last stage.

- 3/4 of that eligible for consideration list are UNDESERVING to EVER be in Hall.
- Rodney is MORE DESERVING than 3/4 of the guys at his same position that are already in.

Total B-****.

Rather see Rodney make it than Krafty Bob....
See above for my feelings. Ditto.

It is unfortunate that Stanley Morgan did not make it to the finals, rather than yet another Steeler or 49er.
I would have had no problem at all with Bucko Kilroy or Roone Arledge making it to the finals rather than Kraft.

For the click-averse:
Belichick (coach), Kraft (contributor), Bengals QB Ken Anderson (senior), 49ers RB Roger Craig (senior) and Steelers DE LC Greenwood (senior) advanced to the finals.

Each committee member can vote for a maximum of three nominees.
Nominees need 80% of the vote to get in.
If nobody receives 80%, the person with the most vote gets in.
Voting takes place during super bowl week.

Semifinalists that did not make the cut in the contributor category:
Bud Adams, Roone Arledge, Ralph Hay, Bucko Kilroy, Art Rooney Jr., Clark Shaughnessy, Seymour Siwoff and Buddy Young.

Semifinalists that did not make the cut in the coaches category:
Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seifert and Mike Shanahan.

Semifinalists that did not make the cut in the seniors category:
Henry Ellard, Joe Jacoby, Eddie Meador, Stanley Morgan, Steve Tasker and Otis Taylor.

The modern era semi-finalists in regular (not senior) players category have been voted on.
This is completely separate from the contributor/coach/senior format above.
Last year the finalists were announced on December 15.

Running back (2): Frank Gore, Fred Taylor.
Wide receiver (5): Larry Fitzgerald, Torry Holt, Steve Smith Sr., Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne.
Tight end (1): Jason Witten.
Offensive line (6): Willie Anderson, Lomas Brown, Jahri Evans, Richmond Webb, Steve Wisniewski, Marshal Yanda.

DEFENSE (8)
Defensive back (3): Rodney Harrison, Earl Thomas, Darren Woodson.
Linebacker (1): Luke Kuechly.
Edge (2): Terrell Suggs, Robert Mathis.
Defensive line (2): Vince Wilfork, Kevin Williams.

SPECIAL TEAMS (1)
Place kicker (1): Adam Vinatieri.

That's a list from a year ago, quoted to give an approximate date of when the voting takes place.
Eric Allen, Jared Allen, Antonio Gates and Sterling Sharpe (senior) - all on that list - made it to Canton last year.

The modern era voting should be sometime around Dec 15 or so.

If Eli gets in and Adam Vinatieri doesn't, I'm going to be pissed.

Johnson is a troll and a jackass. I could give 2 ****s about his opinion
