02, and 08 they missed.

But yes, the NFL tried really hard to keep KC in the game, and keep Mahomes' INT count at 1. Still couldn't do it.
Damn forgot about 02. 11-5 right and still missed. Miami made it in iirc.

the chargers fired marty schottenheimer after going 14-2 in 2006... i don't think miami firing McDaniel after back dooring his ass into the playoffs would be crazy
It's possible. My guess is Dolphins fans do not want to go one and done.

1. Gives false optimism
2. Draft pick is lower

That's the thing. They aren't bad. They aren't great. They are just kind of there. They have always had talent. They have always had expectations. But something bad always happens.
7-4 is a good record, so they are in the fight. But how do you lose 35-6 to Jacksonville. I mean Jacksonville is 6-4 and in the hunt as well, but the game wasn’t even competitive. EVERY TIME I watch the Chargers, they play horrible. They have Philly, KC, Dallas & Houston still on their schedule. I doubt they stay at 4 losses for long.

Certain teams I just root for, the Chargers are one of them, and they always disappoint. Detroit is another one, they seem to disappoint as well. I guess I root for teams that have never won a SB.

Exactly. They’re front-runners. I think half the team will pack it in by Christmas if they’re not comfortably in the playoff seeding by then.
#2 seed with the Jags/Chargers in the 7 seems alright with the Chiefs eliminated.

In that scenario you'd likely have Denver #1

7 Jags/Chargers at 2 Pats
6 Jags/Chargers at 3 Colts
5 Bills at 4 Ravens

If Colts held serve you'd get Colts at Pats and winner of Bills/Ravens going to Denver that'd be ideal.

Considering they've never had multiple losing streaks or been 5-5 at this point in the season since Mahomes has been the starter....

When have you seen them flip this script, exactly?
It is quite possible it’s actually who they are. Once they got their guys back from injuries & suspension, they went 5-1, so they could go 5-2 or 6-1 the rest of the way. But it could also be getting towards the end of their dynasty.

Never give up on great QBs and great coaches though. Remember 2018 ? EVERYONE was giving up on the Belichick/Brady led Pats. I remember pundits right before the Playoffs of 2018, saying The Pats were the worst of the playoff teams and Brady was the worst of the Playoff QBs. You never know.

I'm usually with you Tommy but when does doing that crap ever work? It's bad mojo, you don't mess with the football gods, you play to win the game.
Unless it's the last game of the season and Drake Maye is there sitting in the draft at 1.

Thank god Ryland missed that kick. I shudder to think of the alternative.

I wonder how Thornton would look with Maye at QB now..

Yea they were done last year and were propped up by the league and the stupidity of other franchises

...the league and the stupidity of other franchises and KC's not so secret zebra sauce

I wonder how Thornton would look with Maye at QB now..

I'd rather let Williams find his stride. I don't think Thornton would look much different with Maye.

Are the Patriots the only team improving week by week?

Sure has looked that way lately hasn't it? Pats looked better on Thursday than Denver looked at home today
