NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

Polymarket is at least a real account (the other post is the Polymarket football site runner). So it isn't just a rando. May not be true, but it isn't just some idiot posting crap to look legit.
Another issue with Twitter. It is hard to discern what accounts are legit and which are parody accounts.

That dimwit Musk really ruined Twitter. The entire site is full of posts like this just meant to drive engagement with zero substance.
But Howard Betta has a blue checkmark, so you know it’s legit!

Comments are saying why is there an eagle in Crosby's tweet.

That would be ****ing wild. Like…Eagles have become the NFL’s Dodgers.
Well the Dodgers don’t make bad moves and they mess with contracts to sign free agents. Milton Williams has been great for the Pats. If this was the Dodgers they would have found a way to pay him 1 million for the next 100 years

What they did do is find a replacement in the late rounds in Ojomo.

And it’s not an additive 100. It’s coming from someone else. We are completing 75% of our passes for over 9 ypa. Waddle doesn’t change that to 85% and there is no evidence Waddles catches would be more productive than the catches our receivers are currently making
I think it was Lazar and not sure exactly what week it was, but he was breaking down the running game struggles and one of the things he noted was that we face more loaded boxes at one of the highest rates in the league. So as productive as our receivers have been, they're not being defended in a way that opens things up for the running game. I think if they added or developed a more credible third WR to play with Boutte/Diggs, we'd be able to play more 3 WR sets and threaten defenses to unload the box. So even if that third playing time is pulled from other guys (Hollins, Douglas, Williams, multiple TE sets, the fullback) and some of his production "cannibalizes" Boutte/Diggs, I think it'd be very additive to the running game because you'd see much more favorable fronts.

Waddle is probably overkill for that role. The point I outlined earlier was that if there is a big ticket WR they want to add, it's financially feasible alongside Boutte/Diggs without being over allocated at WR IMO. An earlier poster was trying to compare it to CIN and it's not really a good comparison because Chase/Higgins deals are way bigger than the ones we're talking about (Diggs current deal, Boutte hypothetical extension, trading for a WR that has had his signing bonus retained by another team) and you also have to factor in Burrow's extension vs. Maye's rookie deal when you're talking overall team allocation. We also don't have a singular defensive player making what Trey Hendrickson does. We would not be in a situation where resources are so tied up in 1QB/2WRs/1DE that there's no room for further defensive players or OL signings even if we kept Boutte and added another big ticket WR (within reason, of course). It's more talking about the financial feasibility of it than specifically advocating for it.

Douglas seems to be making some more plays downfield so if Boutte makes it back healthy, the issue might have taken care of itself. It's a little less than ideal for Douglas to be the guy because he's a slot himself which means Diggs can't play there with him in the 3 WR packages (has to be outside instead and he's probably best served in the slot at this point) but production is production. And if he continues to Pop free (no pun intended haha) once or twice a game that should offer some relief in how teams load the box as consistently against us).

Never understood this concept. You wouldn’t make a trade unless you think you get more than you give, so why wouldn’t you want to beat your division opponent in a trade?
Besides Miami isn’t competing for anything.
The thought of making a Rival who you play Two Times better: don't sit well with most. When Miami Traded Parker to us they knew he sucked and he would never make em regret it.

How much will you give up for Marvin Harrison jr?

But if you are making the trade you believe you are getting more value, so you are weakening the opponent. Why would you ever make a trade you come out short on?
If you think a 2nd round pick is more valuable that Fitzpatrick wouldn’t you want to trade with your division opponent because you took mire value than you gave.

That's logical and long term motivated.

They're looking at it if the guy comes back and is a stud against them for a few years, it's job loss.

And if he sux nobody cares beyond a light comment.
