Thanks so much for this very interesting post.

Since you have praised Wilson and, to some extent, Campbell, I'm wondering if you looked at the other O-linemen and what you thought.
I didn't, with time constraints just focusing on the rookies.

They're better than Buffalo.

I get NFL propaganda has brainwashed everyone, but they're just an objectively better team.
Some of you guys really are all or nothing thinkers.

A lot of you agreeing with the post are the same ones who were saying we’d be tanking after week 3

This is crazy but we're talking about locking up the 1 or 2 seed right now. When the season started I didn't even think the playoffs was possible. Now the playoffs feels like a lock and we're actually playing for seeding? Wild stuff.

I'm gonna say take it one week at a time. Nearly every game appears winnable but let's not forget this is still a young team. There might be a few bumps in the road that make us go, oops how did we lose that one. But as long as Drake Maye is playing well, we stand a chance in every game now. That's not something we could say about the QB position for a long time now.

If we can get to 12 wins I'd be very happy. Let's just see where this ride takes us with our schedule.

Falcons 3-4 @ home.
@Tampa Bay 6-2.
Jets 1-7 @ home.
@Bengals 3-5.
Giants 2-6 @ home.
BYE
Buffalo 5-2 @ home.
@Ravens 2-5.
@ Jets 1-7.
Dolphins 2-6 @ home.

The toughest games left are Tampa Bay on the road and Buffalo at home.

We are 6-2 now. So if we lose both tough games and win 6 out of the 7 winnable games, that's still 12-5. Or we might split the two tough games, and end up winning 5 of 7 from the easier ones. 12 wins looks doable to me.

Bottom line is that the Tampa Bay game and Buffalo Bills games are huge. If we win both of those the world is our oyster in the AFC.
I like our chances vs the Falcons, setting up a hugely interesting game at Tampa, and then Jets-Bengals-Giants before the bye that we should win. A win at Tampa and 11-2 at the bye looks very doable.

Understood. But, as a headline, do you think that they have responsibility for the sacks? Or the tight ends? Or Maye himself?

Oliver being out for the season is a huge story. You can count the Bills out for the SB now. Chefs and Colts are 1, 2.

3 is up for grabs if the Pats can continue to play solid football.

Just went back and watched the 14 plays listed in all 22 as "under pressure" which includes the sacks. I did read a Tweet about the sacks being an average of over 4 seconds which kind of plays out in the review. Many coverage sacks.

-First pressure was from Moses, but coverage pressure, nobody got open.
-First Sack, Campbell beat after TE helped block, but no one was open until late when sack was occurring.
-Moses let a guy get inside him after Maye was flushed buy Edge pushed wide by Wilson and then around Drake. Again coverage sack.

-The Wilson let up sack when Maye tried to get thru the line was a coverage sack.

-Garrett sack when again TE blocked and he Euro stepped around Cambell, again slow developing and nobody open.

-The sack where Drake tried stiff armed should have thrown ball away but play was designed to not block the end, so Myles was not blocked by design but nobody open right away.

-Last sack Myles on Moses though were running out the clock and think Drake ate it instead of trying a risky pass, so coverage sack type there as well.

None of the sacks or pressures were immediate pressure and most took 4 seconds plus to get there., just guys not open. At least for Pass Blocking line seemed to play well.

Thank you! I need to re-watch too, but this confirms what @patfanken said in his post: Maye showed poise.

If there's really nothing open and you can't escape from the pocket, then protecting yourself and the ball and taking the sack is a good option. I've noticed a lot of people saying "Why didn't he throw the ball away?" but as soon as you open up your body and take your arm back you put yourself and the ball at risk.

The most amazing play was the double pass.

Drake had so little time to catch the ball, grip it, and pass it accurately with the defender in his face.

That could have gone disastrously wrong.

Well the Falcons have some key players out with injury right now. Namely QB Penix Jr and WR Drake London. Both of them missed the Dolphins game. I'm not sure their availability for this coming week.

Keep in mind that the Falcons when they had both Penix Jr and Drake London healthy beat the Buffalo Bills straight up with London catching 10 passes for 158 yards and a TD.

Kirk Cousins is an ok backup QB but he doesn't strike me as the dynamic threat like Penix Jr. and Drake London is their WR1.

So depending on health missing either of those key guys could really help us in the head to head matchup. Especially since our safeties outside of Hawkins aren't particularly good at stopping the pass. Dugger often looks like a liability when asked to play a deep role.

Agree, Atlanta at full strength on the right day is a handful, they can be dominant on both sides of the ball. It feels like we're catching them at the right time and should win, but otoh teams often rebound after a poor showing. They're certainly better than the other opponents we've faced recently, and we need to bring our A game. Not sure about Penix and London but I bet they both play.

Robinson will play much better than last week. You can bet on that.

If Drake second half season matches his first half, there's no ****ing way he doesn't win the MVP.

You can't have a whole ass season at 75% completion rating and 6 int and not.

That said. They'll **** him.
If Jones wins, he would undisputably be worthy. He's more than keeping up with Maye so far this year. he came out of nowhere but he's having one absolute hell of a campaign.

The only difference between Jones and Maye is that Jones has a slightly better supporting staff.

Slightly better?

Stop Jonathan Taylor and let’s see how good Daniel Jones is.

Good stuff'

The man is so well-suited for the OC job! I can see how it might not translate to a HC position. I hope he is with us for good this time.

Can you remember another coordinator being mic'd up? Just imagine what it would have been like last year with Van Pelt or poor Demarcus Covington!

Josh McDaniels Mic'd Up

Some good takeaways from this.

1) Diggs as a leader can NOT be understated. He's going to Josh asking him if he needs messages 'echoed'. Josh is going to him in key moments with messages.

2) You realize near the end of this just how long Vrabel and McDaniels have known each other.

3) We can put an end to all the ******** 'ZOMG JOSH IS TAKING A HC JOB' ******** now.

There is no other team to be following, that has a brighter future than these Pats.
