Agreed. Teams are playing copy cat not respecting or understanding that this years offense is superior to any offense they had the past few seasons.. so I say let them continue to do it as well. The way our passing game is going, if they want to continue stacking the box, that's ok with me.
This guy?
I would love it if we made that trade but I doubt it will happen. Simmons would likely require a first round pick and I don't know if the team would want that big of a monetary investment into three DT's between Milton Williams and Christian Barmore.Any opinions on Jeffery Simmons DT
Only recently turned 28, pro bowler
Titan's timeline is behind Pats
Vrabel seems to like and respect his game and professionalism
Would the cost be prohibitive, are there other bigger needs or do you get excellent players when you can.
My thoughts too.I would love it if we made that trade but I doubt it will happen. Simmons would likely require a first round pick and I don't know if the team would want that big of a monetary investment into three DT's between Milton Williams and Christian Barmore.
Yeah, the need has passed. We have a bigger need for EDGE at this point. My thoughts too.
He’s a great player, but is tying up almost 200m-300m in DTs really the best thing to do?
Would luv him on my team, but I can’t imagine we would tie up that much money to one position .
Edge was pretty deep last Draft too: but our 2024 Draft after Maye is what screwed us. We literally had to Redraft WR and OL after spending so much capital over the years there.Yeah, the need has passed. We have a bigger need for EDGE at this point.
The future starts now.Edge was pretty deep last Draft too: but our 2024 Draft after Maye is what screwed us. We literally had to Redraft WR and OL after spending so much capital over the years there.
Still a good Start: at least we have Draft picks who are not First Rounders Starting. Been a long time between drinks for us in that regard: cheers to Vrabel and company. The future starts now.
Fair assessment. I want to clarify that while I'm very satisfied with our wr grouping I know and understand we are still a evolving team. We hae accelerated the process with the success so far this season. If we continue to win snd put ourselves in a great post season position then I believe Vrabel has put the organization ahead of schedule. Obtaining a player like AJ takes this offense into another gear wich only makes Drake that much more potent for Defenses to have to handle. He’s a great WR, don’t get me wrong. The strength of his game isn’t speed tho. He’s very similar to Boutte. Big, physical, great contested catch guy. He probably does have a little more fast twitch to his game than Boutte, but I wouldn’t classify him as a fast/shifty WR. That’s not a knock. Mike Evan’s isn’t a super twitched up WR, and he does just fine!
Buddha baker is the guy I'd be in on. I like Henry as well.. Buddha would be the choice over everything else. The deals i'd consider.
AZ - Budda Baker for a 3rd and 6th. This solves the safety problem for the rest of the Maye rookie contract window.. I went into depth on a previous post why i like the trade.
Baltimore - Henry and a 7th for a 5th. Henry isn't cheap and it would really depend on the contract. The Ravens signed him till he is 33 with a void year at 34. His cap hit next year isn't bad... but can he still be a difference maker at 32? And remember... for 3 years before BALT he averaged 4.3 4.4 and 4.2 YPC... then behind that line with Lamar suddenly he looks amazing. Our OL isn't theirs and we don't have a Lamar to take pressure off him. People will say Maye takes just as much pressure off but he doesn't. Maye well might be a better player than Lamar, but no player in the NFL dictates how a defense has to play like Lamar does. So i don't expect him to come close to 5YPC here. And as i said a lot depends on the contract. i am not eating his contract as is. I do not believe he will be looking just about as good 1 year from now. And even if he did it is questionable if he is worth that contract with this OL. But it depends how much dead cap we need to carry. In many case i wouldn't take this deal.
CLV - Jerome Ford for a 6th or 7th. Could be a long term 3rd down option or could be a bump and dump player for 1 year.
CIN - Trey Hendrickson and a 4th for our 2nd. Bengals are talking a big game but they do not want to franchise him next year. So it is move him or losing him. Given that I wouldn't give up a 2nd straight up. But if we get a 4th back which is still a decent pick i'd do it. OR we trade Chaisson and a 4th. I'd be okay with that too.
2025:He’s a great WR, don’t get me wrong. The strength of his game isn’t speed tho. He’s very similar to Boutte. Big, physical, great contested catch guy. You don’t have to convince me.2025:
AJ Brown: 25 rec. 274 yards, 1 TD - 28 years old, Signed through 2029 for a total of ~$130 million
Kayshon Boutte: 18 rec. 301 yards, 3 TD - 23 years old, Signed through 2026 for a total of $2.1 Million
Ridiculous, WTF would trade an ASCENDING CHEAP player like Boutte, for a 30M plus WR? I'LL tell ya who, LTD AND The Twins.Boutte is signed through next season. Why trade him now?
If they are going to trade him, trade him after the season where they can get more after a full season of production like he is doing so far this year. His value would be more after the season. In season trades tend to not get as much value in return compared to offseason trades.
That said, I wouldn't be trading Boutte the way he is playing now especially with Diggs only as a shorter term solution. I would be trying to extend Boutte now while you can get him on more of a value deal.
Sign Boutee to a to a 3 year performance based contract and watch him live up to his potential which is sky high.Ridiculous, WTF would trade an ASCENDING CHEAP player like Boutte, for a 30M plus WR? I'LL tell ya who, LTD AND The Twins.
