For all the people calling the Saints a bad team and expecting us to blow them out, the Patriots were a bad team until about 3 weeks ago.

Losing to the Raiders at home, the defense was awful in Miami then the turnover debacle against the Steelers, the Patriots could of just as easily been the Saints until it clicked the last 3 games.

Defense was bad in the 1st half in Miami. 2nd half they allowed 80 yards and only 2 FGs.

Steelers game if they turn it over 3 times instead of 5 it's a win.

How should we feel about Rhamondre's 13 carries for 18 yards? He can pass block - fine - but should shouldn't a "lead back," a "big back,"be able to run the damned ball as well? Shouldn't he produce reliably substantial yards on early downs? If he can't do that, he is useless in the role. Add to this the fumbling problems, and I do not see any sense at all in Vrabel's insistence that "we need his talents n the field." That is ********, as far as I'm concerned.
Tough to run when there are defenders in the backfield.

The run game situation…

I think it’s a perfect storm combo of:

-Onwenu is a fat, useless tub of goo who is stealing the Patriots money.

-Moses is just old…he does what he can and has certainly uograded that spot.

Bradbury…not powerful.

Two rookies who are learning.

Stevenson is both slow to accelerate AND they have him lining up REALLY far in the backfield.

Henderson seems totally visionless…rookie.

No fullback.

Piss poor blocking TE’s.

So…need OL upgrades, and a bellcow plus a FB/blocking TE.

Westover can get cut tomorrow IMO.

And don't you love them having a game that "shouldn't matter" suddenly being a pressure game for them?

I love that for them.

Love it for them but NGL I'm hoping they don't wear it well

Thoughts on the game and team.

#4 This game is an example of why i think McDaniels is only average as an OC. A better called game would have led to more points. I think everyone pumping his tires needs to take a breath and remember games like this. He's okay. That's all. When i say it again, don't be so fast to hit the dislike button next time. Okay yeah, i was a little salty about that.... I'll admit.

#5 Maye is ahead of schedule for sure. I will need to look at things carefully, but i would guess at a glance he should be in the top 5 of the MVP race. And he still has room to grow. But the big thing is the last 6 quarters I've noticed the game is slower for him. It is in his body language, how he keeps his eyes down field now, his pocket movement. The last 90 minutes of football he hasn't just put up numbers. He has looked comfortable back there. He was good but a bit twitchy in the first 4.5 But he has looked really smooth now. That to me is the sign the year 2 jump has happened officially.

After the 6th game of his 2nd year in the league, Maye at 23 years old is in the top 5 of the MVP race, some say top 2 in the MVP race, and the OC is just average?

Happy to be wrong about not wanting Vrabel here. Best HC we’ve had in years since 2019 Belichick.
You must be a really really happy person in life, being so commonly wrong.

Mentioning MVP... Only including QBs with winning/.500 records (so no Dak 2-3-1 and losing to Carolina? LOL).... Also while there are others having good years I see these are the clear top 8 right right now. Also Rodgers is putting up some numbers but feels more like a passenger. Mahomes can get back in... but for now he's out till proven otherwise.

In no order,

Stafford 12 TDs 2 Ints 1,684 yards 66.5% 8.1YPA 1 fumble -3 rush yds (4-2 LAR) 107.3 PR
Maye 10 TDs 2 Ints 1,522 yards 73.2% 8.5YPA 2 rush TD 1 fumble 138 yds (4-2 NWE) 107.8 PR
Jones 8 TDs 3 Ints 1,502 yards 71.7% 8.3YPA 4 rush TD 76 rush yds (5-1 IND) 105.1 PR
Mayfield 12 TDs 1 Int 1,539 yards 66.2% 7.9YPA 158 rush yds (5-1 TB) 104.4 PR
Goff <TBD as he's playing right now> but currently 12 TDs 2 Ints 120.7PR
Allen (only 5 games) 9 TDs 2 Ints 1,217 yards 70.4% 8.0YPA 3 rush TD 211rush yds 1 fumble (4-1 BUF) 108.5 PR
Darnold 11 TDs 3 Ints 1,541 yards 70.8% 9.6YPA 40 rush yds (4-2 SEA) 115.8 PR
Love (only 5 games) 9 TDs 2 Ints 1,259 yards 70.1% 8.6YPA 88 rush yds (4-1 GB) 110.9 PR

Maye IMO isn't in the lead, but not in the bottom either.
He’s in the top 3 and no one is clearly ahead of him

RBs need to stop worrying about fumbling and run like normal. They are useless the way they run like they think the objective is to keep the ball and not actually gain yards.
Unfortunately the big issue is deeper. Run blocking is bad. The RB’s just run into brick walls. We have pass blocking down which is good for Maye, but we are one dimensional again because we get stuffed up front.

I wonder if the Pats are working with Marcus Bryant to see if he can develop as the starting RT soon.

Ryan Tannehill was what held Vrabel back. Now, he's got a bonafide superstar in the making at the helm.
Tannehill was not the issue. Ask any Titans fan. The defenses were holding them back. For a defensive coach, Vrabel historically and currently wins on offense and has questionable defenses.

Borregales is still perfect since halftime of week 2
And this is why you don’t write off a kicker after 2 games. Kid could end up being the answer we’ve been looking for since Gostowski.

For someone who claims to know football, your evaluations are "piss poor".

Who are the Drake Maye haters?
There were some here who did not believe he was a good pick up until the last couple weeks here. I wouldn't call them haters. Then there's @FreeTedWilliams who has still not said a positive word about Drake this season. He's sure to mention any time Mac Jones throws a TD or Joe Milton does a backflip in practice though.

Not sure where you are getting that.
His Tennessee teams were below average in points allowed once in 6years with a 3rd and 6th
His offenses were 27,27,28 in 3 of the 6.

Average ranking O 18.5 D 12.5

As long as we run the ball enough to keep the defense honest, we will be fine. Maye is getting us out of any hole as long as he has time.

I think if you look at it closely our biggest struggle running the ball is when it’s a situation where it’s obvious we are going to run. Take those out and it’s not that bad, we just aren’t handling the sell out to stop the run

Vrabel's TN scoring D's ranked 3rd, 13th, 25th, 6th, 14th and 16th. So two very good years, one poor one and 3 middle of the pack. The offenses in TN were the weaker link. OFC the weakest link in TN was John Robinson and Miss Amy. Robinson got the gate in favor of the disastrous Ran Carthon. Miss Amy continues to drive Titans fans to despair, can't fire the owner

FreeTedWilliams, Sam, and The Captain are examples of general purpose haters. They are not Drake Maye haters, they hate most everything. They might post something about Drake that appears negative but that is how they post, not Drake specific hate.

That's only part of the issue. RBs clearly slow to the hole because they waste time worrying about wrapping both hands on the ball which also slows them down.

No sprinter runs with hands around their chest.
