Maye today showed the game is slowing down for him. He is ridiculously smart and people that know realized once he grasped the position he would be a really, really good QB. It isn't going to be all roses every game, but I think this game is the norm of what to expect from him this season, and he will show even more as time goes on.

There is no doubt in my mind that State was rooting for NO today. He's the biggest Spencer Rattler fan there is, and he wanted the Patriots to pass on Maye and take Rattler. Then he said this spring that Rattler would have a better year than Maye.

I get it that Josh wants a balanced offense, but by emphasizing the run he was playing into their strength.

Then by starting so many first downs in the 2nd half with a run he made it even easier for them.
Absolutely, they are missing that killer instinct. It was so weird that Drake was shut down in the 2nd half, the way he started in the 1st half, I thought for sure he would’ve wound up with 4 or 5 td passes, over 300 yards passing and we would’ve scored 30+ points.

He looks in complete command out there. Like a 10 year vet.

Interesting to see where he ranks in least turnovers out of the qbs who played 6 games once tomorrows game commences too , he has to be very close to the top

Great point about him being smart, because of his personality and his accent, people perceive him as kinda goofy. But besides being smart on the field, he was an academic award winner at NC. The kid is on his 4th (and best) offense coordinator in 4 years. He just picks everything up pretty fast and then just processes it so well.

I remember that clip pre draft last year with Dabol. You can tell the Giants really wanted to trade up and get Maye. They got a good one a year later, so it worked out for the best for both teams.

The last 4 games have been night and day for Maye compared to the 1st two.

In the 1st two, he was still making mistakes with his footing on throws and I was worried that he wasn't making the growth he needed. The last 4 games he's been tremendous. Including throwing the ball away to not take sacks or flipping it to a RB to extend the play.

Of the top three QBs that year, I was thrilled we got Maye. Williams was a headcase in waiting and Daniels was an injury waiting to happen. I like Daniels, but I fear he's going to have a short shelf life.

In reality the left side has been both the better run blocking side. We would've expected Bradbury, Onwenu and Moses to be the "stronger" run blocking side but they have all kinda sucked in run blocking. Definitely not what I expected, and something that feels fixable with reps and coaching.

was really looking to slow the game down, trying to kill the clock
