NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

Belichick to Dolphins or Giants.
Jets are a dark horse.
BB to the Jets would be storybook. Except for him and Jets fans.

All the Bill haters on here should be rooting for it, to watch him in that purgatory.

I like Myers and realistically he should still be a patriot. But if you look at our current WRs. If we traded for Myers it would kinda of create some position redundancy. As Diggs moves all around so no issues there.. Hollins is the blocking wr, Boutte is the #2 option. Pop gets sprinkled in. Williams is the deep threat option.. just trying to figure where Myers would play?
Why are talking about trading for ANY WR's unless you are trading one out. Look at the skills we have now. Davis is the anchor. Boutte is the possession guy. Hollins is the blocking/red zone target. Williams is the speed guy. Pop is the slot guy. And Chism is the guy the fans need to fantasize about. Any guy you bring in regardless of the talent will have to adjust to a new very complex system halfway through a season. If you want to upgrade the WR talent, much better to do it thru FA and the draft when the have a full off season to learn the offense.

For this in season trade market I'd rather concentrate on areas like RB, S and any upcoming injury reaction. At S though, I'm looking for starting talent.

Buffalo would be the best spot.

Elite QB
Great OL
Good culture

Need a HC to put them over the top
If he comes back in the AFCE as a NE fan I’d prefer to see him in NY. Less immediate threat for us.

And better for him. If he can turn that mess around he will cement his legacy as GOAT. If he goes to Buffalo and wins everyone will discount it because of the talent they already have in place.

After seeing the way Belichickbis conducting himself, and the mess he has made at UNC, I can't see any NFL team hiring him. HOWEVER, if Bunny moves on to Warren Buffet, and Belichick somehow regains his sanity he could prove me wrong.

PFK,

Drawing a blank on davis?? You mean Diggs right?.. but agreed you could have to ship one out. I know the contract is an issue but the guy wjo males the most sense for so many reasons is AJ Brown. Again I know all about the contract. But he's the perfect guy to come here be back with his coach, play for a team he loved and wanted to be drafted too.

If we had AJ in 2019-20 we win another superbowl Brady would have flourished with AJ. I would love for Drake to flourish with AJ Brown like he is with Diggs.

Stop with your BS. Being critical of Belichick’s is not hating. I have praised him far more than I criticized him. But bring the Belichick discussion to the Belichick thread. I am done with it here.
Suggesting he is responsible for 2024 when he was long gone is hating pure and simple. Give it a break.

Reading some articles that suggest Chris Olave could be traded. Should the Patriots be interested?

I was a big fan of Olave coming out. If he's healthy now, I think getting him for a 2nd round pick or later would be a pretty good deal.

I wouldn't be willing to give up a 1st though. Olave is already halfway through his rookie deal and does have some past injury concerns.

No way. Too many concussions.

Since Alvin Kamara was discussed, here is what a Bleecher Report article says on him and other potential players available for trades:

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 4th-Round Pick

The Saints picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, besting the Giants.

While keeping standout running back Alvin Kamara would help keep the Saints competitive and allow them to continue evaluating quarterback Spencer Rattler, trading the 25-year-old would also make sense.

Moving Kamara, who has recorded 17 receptions for 360 scrimmage yards and a touchdown, would likely bring a quality return. That's relevant because the Saints may dive back into the quarterback market next year if Rattler or rookie Tyler Shough can't solidify the position.
There's a chance Kamara would be a cap casualty next offseason anyway. New Orleans is projected to be $18.8 million over the salary cap, and it could save $8.5 million by releasing the 30-year-old with a post-June 1 designation in the spring.

With Kendre Miller taking over a bigger role in the offense—he received more carries than Kamara in Week 5—the Saints have a chance to make a move.

Potential Suitors: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers

Kamara's a little banged up too, you could probably get him for less.

5 concussions in his career. That's more than Tua. He's due here in a couple of weeks for his yearly.

Oh baloney... talentless teams lose regardless of schedule.

The Dolphins and Jets play the same schedule the Patriots do... what's their excuse?

This team has the talent, play better football, stay healthy... win now.

I would expect his reaction form you and your clown show posse.

The numbers are not bad either. Salary is $9,708,471. Saints cap is:
2025 Dead Cap: $7,071,471
2026 Dead Cap: $15,273,942
2025 Savings: $2,637,000

My concern is his age. He is 31 in July and banged up. I think a 5th is about right, but not a 4th. Maybe some pick swaps.

I never said he is responsible. But you choose to read what you want to read. He played a part in it. It was his scouting department that scouted these players in the season.

But again, there is no debating with you on this subject. You see things only in black and white and in the pro Belichick spin.

It is funny that in this same thread I have been basically been accused of being a Belichick homer for giving him too much credit for early Super Bowl wins and a hater for giving him any responsibility for the 2024 draft.

Has anyone heard rumors or anything regarding us acquiring Pro-Bowl DT Jeffrey Simmons from Tennessee?

So we would have 3 DTs on $100M, or close to contracts?
Not gonna happen.

Barmore's contract is $84M.

Simmons is under contract for another 2 years at $20.6 and 23.5M for whatever team trades for him

The problem that I see is that You'd have one of them off the field since none of them are an actual NT.
