And BTW, to everyone who toed the company line by pimping The Elliss Brother Who Sucks, you ****ing dumbasses owe Ring6 a ****ing Apology.
Yes, we do. I hereby salute andy.

Going into camp, Elliss should have been considered a solid Ster and a good backup ILB on run downs (not even sure of that now).

Vrabel did bring in a starting ILB in Spillane and competition for the #2 spot in Gibbens.

And how many can't wait to see Tavai back on the field? Spillane-Gibbens-Tavai is a pretty group, certainly much better than anything that we saw for the first 2 1/2 games.

Douglas has been targeted 13 times through 3 games and has caught 5 for 13 yards, averaging 2.6 yards a catch. He is currently a non-factor. I would get Chism in the starting line up to see if he can be more productive. Currently that bar is very low to out perform Pop.
As much as I want to see Chism, I’m ok with the team holding him out if he’s not ready.

I’d look over in Diggs’ direction. By all accounts he is playing good football, but he’s not getting many targets playing the Z. Is he getting open? Maybe the move for now is to put Diggs in the slot and give Williams a shot in the Z.

At any rate, I’ve seen enough of Douglas to question his fit for the role.

Both Elliss and Spillane rated highly last year in the analytics stats after playing clean up roles in bad defenses. I thing PFF had Elliss as their 7th ranked LB, which seemed daft at the time.

I wonder if the analytics models are flawed in a way that overvalues high LB production in bad defenses.

Last few seasons amongst some terrible offensive outputs we've seen pop be a bright spot. We know pop can play. He's in a funk right now. How does he go from best wr all training camp in Josh's offense to literally nothing. It's inexplicable as He's holding this offense back. I feel Chism should at least get activated Sunday and if pop continues to have drops, and gaffes Vrabel's got no choice but to insert Chism.

The OL has been good but the steelers started getting pressure with just rushing 4.. that's not good. It directly impacts Drake abilities to hit open guys up the seem.

I think he's ready just say it's a hunch: because Pop is obviously not. I knew we should have kept Bourne but Vrabel and McDaniels likes to fool themselves.

Pop warner is holding back this offense twin... he needs to wake up and understand he has a top 10 QB throwing too him..

Absent an injury, #6 WR's don't "deserve" a shot.
It is irresponsible not to take notice of a player's improvement or revealed potential merely because he was at some point given some number prior to your working with him.. You might recall a fella named Tom whose initial number was dismal, or another named JaMarcus. If you care to look at numbers, you might take a gander at Douglas' numbers this season.

To me, Douglas is not really relevant. Douglas should be inactive.

I'm guess that I'm OK with Chism getting reps. He's our #5 WR. I just don't see him getting many reps as the 9th or 10th target.

Vrabel is able to have 5 WR's active, so Chism certainly could be active.

Yeah. I have no idea how he will do in an actual game, but I think he has earned by his performance in the more controlled context of practice and preseasn a shot at showing what he can do. More broadly, I am concerned that Vrabel is failing to live up to what I thought was a promise that performance both in practice and in games is what gets you a shot at starting, not whether somebody is "one of your guys," or because of draft position, or based on presumed entitlement from the past, or because "we need a guy sorta like him," or some other criterion not really related to actual performance. Not to remain true to these announced principles will inevitably undermine efforts at building a performance-based culture, which I thought Vabel was committed to doing.

I don't think he's ever going to be completely inactive as he does has return ability on STs.. however I would like to see what chism could do.

I don't think that's what Vrabel promised. I think he said everyone has a clean slate. That doesn't erase the skill set that lead to someones prior place in the pecking order. At the end of camp they have to evaluate everyone and if all you went off was performance in camp you could potentially throw away some great talent just because they are developing a little slower. No of course you still have to consider what their potential ceiling is. It's not about where you were drafted but rather the skills you have that may still be untapped.

Agreed. What I've tried to do is listen less to the local sports media who get paid to dissect every little thing Vrabel's said. I believe Vrabel's a honest and endearing coach. I feel good with the overall direction the team is heading because thier issues are correctable. We have a great young QB that's entering the conversation of top 10 another solid OT in Campbell who's shutting up his doubters. Henderson, Williams, Woodson I expect to have larger impacts as the season goes along.

Tavai is he on IR? He's like a forgotten man? His return would definitely strengthen the rotation at the least. Marty seems to playing in that hybrid- LB role as well.. on CB as we all know once gonzo is back out there.. everyone else gets put in pecking order.

Austin will be in on nickel, Marcus won't have to cover on the outside.. Davis can take care of the #2 WR.

Yeah Tavai is still on IR. He's eligible soon but I'm not sure he'll be ready yet. He had a significant calf injury during OTAs. And I believe at the time it was thought he could lose the whole year but rehabbing and a mid season return was possible. I don't think it was ever clear exactly what the time table would be and there has been little info since. I'm making a complete assumption but based on this little info I don't think we're looking at the shortest side of an IR stint possible but anything beyond that who knows.

Ok. I know he got injured earlier in camp? Or was it minicamp not too sure. I'm just thinking here we don't have a bye until week 14.. that's a long ride wich will stress the depth. We seemingly don't have much depth at ILB? We cannot ill afford to lose Spillane. I think we should be looking to add depth here?

I don't see anything here which disagrees with my post substantively. Same point, different manner of expressing it.

I think Kyles said he’s learning every WR position so he can play across the board.

Well his role is to cover WRs. If he isn’t good at that starting he won’t be any better at it when he subs in
I get what you're saying but the caliber of WR will not be as high and might better match his skillset. Just a thought
