OT/Humor: The dumbest trade idea ever

Burrows is like stealing the Mona Lisa. You have a valuable asset but because of its very nature, you can never sell it as everyone would know what it is and that it’s stolen.

That QB is great in theory. But if he either can’t be on the field or can’t win the big one, how valuable is he really ?
Every QB is a QB who "can't win the big one" - until the moment they actually do it.

He's the only QB not named Mahomes who has represented the AFC in the Super Bowl since Brady, and they were darn close to winning it. We have no reason to believe he "can't win the big one".

That said : the trade proposal is stupid on many levels. We don’t yet know if Maye is going to be somebody. But he’s intriguing enough + young wnough that he’s worth finding out.

The problem isn't Burrow. It is the ****hole OL. Period.

His ability to stay on the field is a poor reflection of the organization, not him.

It is actually insane Burrow has survived as long as he has at the level he can produce. Best pocket footwork in the NFL. Imo, no one has come close. If he had an organization like the Chiefs, we'd all hate him 100x more.

Both GM's would deserve to get fired for even considering it and the NFL should step in to reject it.

They're still running Ted Karras as a starting center in the year of our lord two thousand twenty-five.

Once Maye proves he’s got the stuff this year, more offensive free agents will start wanting to come play here too. I don’t think that was a huge issue this year with Vrabel instead of Mayo (they did snag Diggs after all) but it’s still not a spot players who prioritize wanting to compete for a title would prefer. A good showing this year can start to change that.

I agree, unfortunately we are looking at another weak crop in free agency, although I think they could add some OL help there, but like lastbit will be defense free agency, and offense in the draft. They shouldn’t waste large contracts on the offensive free agents.

Yeah but in those weaker crops there are a lot of decent depth guys who get a lot of similar offers and so will prioritize places where they’re likely to win which also raises their profile for their next contract.

No one's trading Drake Maye away for anything less than that. Especially since we'd be rolling with Josh Dobbs the rest of the year.
Yep and at the same time they'd be having Maye which means the picks we get back probably aren't going to be #3 overall like the one we used on Maye. That of course presumes Maye doesn't get killed behind the CIN OL.

I have one standard response on this forum for these types of trade rumors, see below:

I’m sure the Falcons are holding onto Cousins for a situation just like this.

He's still worth his draft position. Account for future picks, he's worth a lot more than that. If I were a Bengals fan, this scenario would make my blood boil. Maybe someone else is willing to give up 4 1sts.

I see nothing in the first posts that even SUGGEST that we are swapping QB's in this deal. If you want to add idiocy to this thread get THIS! It's Drake for 2 mid round firsts PERIOD.

NOW editors, Take this ****ing thing down. You are embarrassing my board with this content

It makes sense if you take the stupid POV I've seen from many people that the Patriots' primary goal in making trades is to solve other team's problems.

The Bengals backup QB Browning is 4 - 3 as starter.

They dont need Maye.

I remember when a poster here laughed at me when in 21 mid season I said I’d still trade Cork Jones for Trevor Lawrence straight up. That aged well.

Pats aren’t trading Maye unless the Chiefs offer Kermit straight up.

Speaking of Cinci never thought we had a shot at that game: we might do now.

"Potential trade scenarios" has become a big thing in recent years.

Why?

The clickbait title garners plenty of views, while the author has to put minimal time, effort and thought into the article/podcast/video.

Social media dumbing down of America.
It took me a while to pick up on this pattern, but now I can't unsee it.

Can I get Burrow?

I wanted to see Maye duel with Burrow and was planning to go
