Patriots Player Departure Polk traded to Saints

Would be kinda neat if he did. I liked the kid, antics aside.

Antics??? Is that what we're calling this candy assed rec league BS now?

I agreed with TN running the clock down to nothing and forcing GA to expend all their timeouts, but the false start might have been the difference in TN winning.

Football is a funny game.
Yeah well, I wasn’t laughing last night

I look at this as a sign that they're pretty happy with their other WRs - they know Polk's floor and ceiling and need the roster spot for someone with more upside.

Interesting knowing that swapped picks with the Chargers to get him in the first place, who took WR Ladd McConkey

McConkey did ok for a 2nd round pick last year, with 82 catches for over 1000k yards

All this **** about how we had to take a WR at that pick because “it’s a bad draft for OL and CB” and yet in a redraft it’s all OL and CB climbing up into the 1st round. I’m feeling borderline captain stone right now.

I don’t know where you heard it was a bad draft for OL, a record number of offensive tackles went in the first round. The problem was that cleaned out the best tackles, and those who were left did nothing o their rookie seasons, Paul was 2nd String, and Suamateio was 3rd string, with the Chiefs once again picking a LT in the 1st round of this draft.

That’s just the Chiefs. Some pretty great looking Centers and Guards went in the 2nd and 3rd.

But we did get one year of *excellence* from the guy with the self described “best hands in the league” and it only cost a 2nd round pick….
Javon Baker also said he would make people in wheelchairs stand up. I'm still waiting on that one!

Henderson nice pickup on the wheel route.

edit: oops posted to wrong thread.

It was a horrible return on investment, but at least there was a return. A 6th rounder might get packaged for a move up, who knows. The McConkey thing though... just ugh

I don't understand why we have anybody from previous regime still involved in player recruitment.

I am glad they traded him. It was obvious from his college YouTube highlights he was not going to be a good WR, let alone his actual play last year.

Fkn Wolfe.. what a jack off. Bah

Both Polk and Baker are gone, what a fkn DISGRACE Huck.
Ladd was the pick.

I was surprised by the pick but I'm always willing to give GMs and Players a chance.

I didn't like when he said he had the best hands in the league before playing one ****ing snap and choosing the #1 number on his jersey, I felt his head was in the wrong place, Belichick probably would have put him in his place but we had Mayo.

He scored 2 TDs if Im not mistaken but we know how things went out, the offense as a whole was dysfunctional, many problemas last year, I really wanted him, if healthy, to glue on Diggs this year as I think he could learn a thing or two and who knows, maybe in our wildest dreams become some sort of Diggs copy as they have similar bodies but seeing him play in pre season and getting injured trying to stiff arm a CB I gave up, it was a horrible play, dude was slow, didn't get the right angle, looked like someone who never played football, he knew he wasn't making the team and that translated on the field in that only opportunity.

Oh yeah and about Baker, I wanted Troy Franklin at the time but he got drafted by the Broncos, I believe looking some scoreboard app this past weekend he was having a good game for the Broncos, better than anything Baker and Polk together ever did.

I liked the pick at the time but dude did absolutely NOTHING last year and in this training camp he had his chances, move on.

BPA was the best fit then and now and was NOT McKonkey.

Or Jackson Powers-Johnson at center.
a fine choice
or one of the DT's: Sweat or Fiske
or one of the CB's: DeJean, McKinstry, Lasiter
=========
I can understand the team not wanting Mckonkey. Many didn't, and there lots of choice rated higher or close to him in value.

I even understand the trade down in order to get the 4th.

I would simply draft DeJean. DeJean PLUS a 4th would have been great.
