4th quarter heroics are great, but you typically want a qb who shows up at some point the first 3 quarters

Oops, i was off. He was total ass all 4 quarters this time.

Maye never looked near this bad with 10x worse team last year

Yeah, there's a reason everyone was trying to trade up for Maye and not settle with JJ. Hell, even ATL took injury risk Penix over him.

Maye looks awesome on a 4-13 caliber team and McCarthy looks trash on a playoff caliber roster.

I didn't understand McCarthy jumping into the first round at the time and it makes even less sense the more I watch him in the NFL. He has the best WR in football and he's hot garbage, rookie or not.

He was carried at Michigan, but somehow impressed scouts with his "personality" and a couple throws in shorts and suddenly he was getting TB12 comps...

Small sample size, granted, so will have to revisit, but I'd be stunned if JJ becomes a better QB than Maye in this league - they're only 5 months apart in age.

To me, Daniels is still showing to be the only QB conclusively better than Maye in that class.

There’s debatable guys. Nix has had a perfect system under Sean Payton to coddle him, and even now looks erratic this year. Like a better Mac Jones. Penix also looks good, but is still a little too early to determine fully.

I liked McCarthy the best out of that second QB tier of him, Penix and Nix. Definitely feel wrong about that so far.

Unfair of me to judge too harshly with only his 2nd game played but not great.

Maye looked great yesterday. Mcdaniels picked up his game too which is very important

He was an all pro according to some local reporting around here last week.

Minnesota seems like one of those teaser teams. With the talent they have on offense they should be far better then what they showed..

Its every qb’s wet dream to play on a team like that. Amazing offensive mind as hc (made sam freaking darnold look top 10), arguably the best wr in the league, when addison is back another great wr. Strong defense that puts the ball back in your hands repeatedly and don’t require alot from the qb, without his turnovers theyd have held the opponents to maybe 14-17 pts each game. If jjm cant rebound to at least have a bo nix type year thats awful concerning imo.

Correct on all fronts. This is why I will continue to say our guy DM has been the most impressive given the situation he was drafted into to and he has good players around him but not elite ones like McCarthy does.

Yep, I think it’s underestimated how Drake somehow made himself and the offense look passable last year. Very pedestrian numbers overall, but you put 99.9% of rookie qbs on that cluster of a team last year and its an unmitigated disaster.

This year he’ll have actual expectations so we’ll see. Still not enough around him to be a top 10 guy but hoping he shows more flashes and consistency.

Agreed. I look at TB12 earlier in his career.. tror brown, givens, patten, branch.. good players but not elite. Brady was robbed of an opportunity to have Terry early in his career. Although he won with what he had.. I still believe trading for a guy for Drake on the outside is still on the table.. it's a matter of time before Garrett Wilson will want out... Olave is still a possibility.. until then.. I'd like to see Williams play more.. he gives an element outside the numbers that Drake needs.

What's a matter Sam? Your JJ love get bashed a little bit last night?

too early for me to definitively say on any of the QB's
however, JJMc looked bad
saw an interesting stat that 40 games ago Maye was in high school, and J McDaniels played 55 college games and 17 reg season nfl games.
is it time to say Lawrence needs a change of scenery?
in other new, Burrows (toe surgery) out for 3 months

I don’t know, Nix has been really good as the Broncos QB.
