Patriots Pregame Thread 2025 Patriots @ Cryami - Early thoughts

Actually PWP is Cape Cod for this game. No cable TV but streaming only.
Good news. Realized early this week that Paramount + which I have via my apple TV+ carries LOCAL CBS games. Jacked & Pumped. Did an antenna scan and indoor OTA antenna is too weak. Rooftops not allowed.

The Patriots used to be the team that took out a team's best player. Always adjusted. Made key plays to win when needed. Whether it be offense or defense. The other team would make mistakes and get penalized often.

Now, it's the complete reverse. They are unable to made adjustments. The other teams does make adjustments. Not making clutch plays when needed. Penalties. Unprepared.

This season should be about progress for Maye. Helping him get his footwork in order. Avoiding mistakes. If he does that, and the team still ends up with 5 or less wins, it's time to go all out and add talent. If he continues to make the same mistakes, and the team has a poor record, Maye will go into 2026 with a make or break season potentially.

1) Perhaps Woods will be our gunner.

2) Perhaps Ballentine didn't play well enough to want him back this week and was it decided to give someone else a shot for the week.

But, yes, I too would have preferred Ballentine. I actually wouldn't have been unhappy to see Ballentine signed to the 53.

In the end, Vrabel continues to hold lots of tryouts with the bottom few places on the 53 and with spots of the Practice Squad.

Isn't Minor a little on the very slow side. He must have pictures of Vrabel.

Minor competed okay. His problems were all technique related that I saw. He got beat a ton but could improve. And none of that matters, anyway, if he's playing special teams exclusively. Let's see how it plays out before we complain too much.

I am finding it difficult to be very excited about this team as currently constructed, however. Too many questions marks at too many premium positions.

Agree. I am watching Maye for the year to see if he progresses and shows signs of being a long term solution at QB.

I think there will be empty seats at Gillette next week like Week 1.
