Have you looked at other teams backups?
We actually have pretty solid depth on D.
The only area there is a major issue with depth is the OL.

At DT we have Tonga, Farmer and the guy we just signed. White can also play DT.
At edge in addition to 3 starters rotating we have possibly the best edge run defender in the league.
At LB we have Gibbens and Tavai who have been starters.
At corner Austin is the cb4 and he has played well when he has played James is cb5 (find me a team with a surely better cb5) and we just added an experienced veteran corner who has played a lot on this league to the ps.

Our “2nd unit” on defense is probably as good as any in the league.

The guys wearing the uniform against the Giants and getting torched are not in the team, they dont count they aren’t on the roster.
Pretty spot on.
O-line is the one unit we really can't afford a major injury.
I won't even talk about QB. Every team is screwed if their starter goes down for significant time.

Why is Campbell going to "Struggle", because ******s say so?
I take it you will be one of the complainers...
Bah
Campbell has been lights out in the run game and shakier in pass protection. It's a fact. He hasn't put it together yet. And if he doesn't do it soonish, Maye is going to have a hard time with his blind side. Sure, they can use the back for protection, but that limits the offense. If he does put it together, that could help Maye build on his rookie year. We'll see.

When was he “shaky”?

Run game will be huge.
Last year it was terrible.
11 rushing tds in 17 games, tied for 6th worst in the NFL.
3 of those 11 tds came for our QBs, so 8 rushing tds from our backs in 17 games, that's putrid.
Run game will be way better this year, defences will not be able to rush the QB against us so aggressively this year.
All those reasons will make make pass blocking easier, and Campbell is a massive upgrade over Lowe.

I bet there were a lot of Commanders fans saying this exact same thing last year.
The team will go as Maye goes, just like Wash last year with JD.
Waaaaaay Better coaching this year. Maye takes a leap and amazingly the rest of the roster looks way better.
10 wins minimum.

Man, I hope you’re right!

7-8 wins. Too many question marks to go higher. Window not open yet they still need more talent and a lot more depth.
I’m still saying 10 wins.

Question marks will be answered positively.

OL will gel better than most expect, and Josh will gameplan and scheme to make the most of what they’ve got on the line. WRs and RBs will complement each other well, giving Josh a lot to work with to keep opposing defenses off balance. Drake Maye will discover he doesn’t have to do it all, in fact he won’t have to do much beyond orchestrating the players around him, and he’ll mature quickly once he realizes and focuses on that.

On defense our DL will not just win in the trenches, they will dominate. The rest of the D will feed off that, especially our DBs. Woodson will turn out to be just as stellar on D as Henderson will be on O. Spillane and Landry and Ellis will lead a solid LB corps, and Mapu will find his niche covering TEs. Overall the Pats defense will be one of the best in the league. And if it isn’t Vrabel will sign himself to a contract and take the field to show them how it’s done. (jk about that last bit)

The bottom line is, defense will be elite so offense can be average and still win.

The future is bright!

You're forgetting the single biggest factor: Vrabel himself. He has completely changed the culture there, brought back accountability and has instilled a headhunting attitude.

Out of those first 9 games buffalo is the only team we would be the underdog in when I make up odds in my head.

Like the additions on defense and if gonzo can play it will definitely give us a heads up in those first couple of weeks cause the offense is gonna take awhile.

The range is 6-10 wins for this team with 10 being pretty unlikely. I'll say 8 to be realistic but our schedule looks "easy" compared to the last few years.

Im just feeling optimistic this season and really glad they got campbell, Moses, Henderson, diggs, and Williams to help drake make the step forward.

And as played out as mcdaniels is here at least he's a professional with tons of experience. Really hope he took to heart some of yhe criticisms about his play calling and the complexity of his system with younger players and modified it a bit

The FACT, is he's a rookie. We'll see how he does.

I'm going 10-11 wins and a puncher's chance in the playoffs assuming health.

They may start out rusty, but should improve as the season moves along.

Health is paramount for all 32 teams, but the Pats have the talent to compete if they are healthy... not every team can say that.

I go back and forth, can definitely see the upside especially on offense, but we’ve endured a lot of bad football recently that’s hard to forget.

A lot of us thinking 10 wins are assuming were gonna sweep all the “bad” teams on our schedule. Every one of those teams can beat us on a given day, they’re all 50-50 games. The Raiders are a perfect example of a dangerous opponent and it’s critical we win this game. If we do, then I’ll feel a lot better about 10 wins and that it’s not all a mirage.

I’m at 8 wins, but maybe they steal a win to move to above .500
So RLKAG

I literally have no idea on what this team will do. Can the OL block even average? Can the QB manage consistency during the games? Will the new defense be effective? This team could end up being really good or they could really suck.

7-8 wins for me. I think they are 2 years away from the window opening as a true contender if all goes well. Bill left this roster in such a sorry shape fixing it isn’t an overnight job.

Without enough talent, that gets you a team that competes, but still loses more often than not. The Patriots will be more watchable this year, that's for sure. Just removing Mayo from the sideline is a huge step forward.

I think this is a completely fair assessment.
I'm on the side of all the question marks you bring, which are completely valid, will be answered positively, and most importantly Maye will take the step necessary to make everyone around him better, just like JD with wash last year.
For me, the biggest question mark is run D. If we can be an average to good run D, this team should be sniffing the playoffs all season long.

I've been 7 or 8 from the start. I'm leaning 7 these days, but I could make a case for eight, or for 6. I keep thinking of last year when after the first win we imagined the New Age Jerrod Pats were gonna collaborate and happy talk their way into the playoffs. Sort of the same thing after this year's draft. Hope springs eternal, but so do delusions.

All that said, for a team to double or nearly double its wins over each of the past two seasons is not a bad outcome at all. I just want to see them get better, and I think they have.

I agree. If we can see them do that for the next three or four years we’ll be in great shape. If they can do it for the next five or six even better!

Brother...

Nice ride! The 992s (and 992.2s) have been awesome.

Any work done on it? Plans to track it?

I'm in heavy debate on whether to get the "track-ready" car off the jump (GT3RS) or get the "does everything" Turbo S. Biggest factor for me is whether I should wait for 998 before pulling the trigger.
