I don't really have a judge on his leadership he's only been off the PUP a few weeks now.

But I did hear a comment the other day that made me wonder. I can't remember who the player was but he was talking about how Hollins talks more trash than anyone he's played with.

The player was sort of laughing about it and it left me wondering what he really felt I couldn't tell if he felt like he was doing it in way where the team gets behind it and he's writing checks that they collectively are going to cash or if he felt like he's role player writing checks that the starters will have to cash.

I guess it's hard to tell if he's a goof in a way that everyone loves and will rally behind or the annoying class clown kind of way. He's definitely got a personality to him that's for sure.

Can he be the Kevin Millar kind of leader?
He was very well liked here in Buffalo. People talked about him often. But he was 100% flaky. If you need someone to work some sidejob at your house, he'd fit right in.

Yeah I don't think liking him will be a problem doesn't automatically make you a leader. I'm just saying I don't really know yet.

I know, but I’ve seen other posters talk about his leadership. Never really seen any hard evidence of this. Kinda an urban legend imo
IIRC Bourne took the lead in organizing off season workouts when he first came here, when Mac was too raw to take such a lead. Bourne has always been a cheerleader for the team and seems respected by his teammates. Think he’s been a little less prominent in that role since he was injured and crapped on by his coaches.

So weird getting used to our HC give raving praise to a specific depth player. BB would have acted like he didn't know who Webb or Bryant were, but Vrabes lavishes them with adoration. I just hope it doesn't give them hopes that they'll make the team. Bryant, yes. But Webb should stick on the PS - although, he certainly has jumped over Baker and probably Jiles too. Who knows, if the IR-dtr Bourne, maybe Webb sneaks on the 53, wouldn't that be crazy.
How did Logan Brown do in preseason?

Just a matter of numbers?

Of course, if he has promise he won’t make it to the 4th claim.

That’s maybe a little unfair. Hollis obv is on the field a lot on running plays throughout his career, where other “more efficient” WRs would come off the field maybe in favour of 12 personnel. He’s also a number 3 or 4 WR throughout his career, so he’s most certainly not the first or even second read. He is what he is, a # 3-5 WR depending on the WR room around him. Big guy they use in the run game.
No those aren’t facts. He was on the field for a higher % of pas plays that the team average last year and played 94% of the snaps with the Raiders. He plays on run downs is a fallacy. For his career he has played on 2063 passing snaps and 1357 running snaps. That’s 60% pass.
He played the most snaps last year of any Bills receiver and 94% of them for the Raiders. Thats not a 3 or 4. His catches per snap were atrocious.
In every other season than the Bills and Raiders year he caught 18 or fewer passes.
The facts are there people just want to avoid them for some reason. To answer the original point he has proven to be very poor at “finding the open spot in the zone”

Yet Buffalo WR room is a mess and they didn’t keep him. Or did you mean liked by fans? He seems to have them duped

I think that was Douglas saying it...

I definitely think his cult following creates some of the perception. I think it will be very clear to us very quickly what it is.

Well, that is the good news, the three teams ahead of the Pats in waiver claims may not have a big need for DeVito.

The not-so-good news is that the Pat's (arguably) biggest need is OL (especially IOL). For one 2025 OL Ranking Website (see the link below the paragraph) the OL rankings for the Titans, Browns and Giants is 24th, 27th and 28th (out of 32, with the Pats being ranked 29th). Whether or not you agree with these exact OL rankings, it is pretty clear that the Titans, Browns and Giants have weak OLs and important OL needs. Thus, unfortunately any promising OL prospect that has been released on waivers is likely to be snapped up before the Pats can make a claim

In the waivers process, can we only pick one and then wait for our turn again once everyone else has gone, just like the draft, or can we make a number of claims when it's our turn?

We can claim as many as we want but that means someone else needs to be cut to make room.

I never that of Bourne as a leader. More of a "wanna be" running around saying, "look at me".
Some people think big talkers are leaders. SMH.

Tommy Devito FTW
With Dart playing the way he has I see the Giants letting go of Winston before DeVito, unless there are cap implications, which I’m too lazy to look up.

Bucs are cutting Kyle Trask...I liked him coming out of college....

I would greatly prefer Winston as a #2 than either Dobbs or Devito. Devito is a #3. maybe.

I think Vrabel really likes Dobbs, but claiming Winston for a 2-year contract for $6M makes a lot of sense to me. Winston is well able to step in and have a chance to win if Maye is down for a couple of games.

No thanks. Chance to win? His 36-51 career record suggests otherwise. Too many ints to win.
