A thought - Do Coaches or Players Read Patsfans Forum?

They absolutely take it seriously. Derek Carr wanted to fight Max Kellerman after he suggested the Raiders replace Carr.

Deion Sanders dumped water Tim McCarver after Sanders was critisized for playing both baseball and football.

LeBron James got into a confrontation with Stephen A. Smith because criticized his son.

Players have gotten into Twitters wars with fans.

There are more, but players are way sensitive today due to everything being exposed online for people to see.
I mean serious in the sense that coaches aren't listening to us to make gameplans

Exactly. I've gone around and looked for some of the old sites from that era, and they're gone, and there haven't been any new ones that have come around to replace them. People just start FB groups, go on X, etc. There are still a few of us (FinHeaven, twobillsdrive, 49erswebzone, seahawks(dot)net, etc.), but not many. Like you said, those days are gone, and those of us who are still here are lucky to be here, given how much everything has changed.

Lucky maybe, but you should still give yourself credit for all the hard work you have put into keeping this site very accessible and clean.

Clearly BB didn't because if he had listened to me, he would have drafted alot better!
When many of us started calling out Bill's blunders in real time and ended up being correct I knew it was the end for him.

That's the thing. I'd have a tough time ever letting this place go because of the forum, because it's such a huge part of my life. If it wasn't for the community, I don't know if I'd still have the same motivation. Although it's not worth anything (or not enough to matter). So if anything happens to me (in the event I'm eaten by a random pack of squirrels), I don't think my son would be interested. And my wife already said she's not going to keep it going. I told her she'd at least have to hop on here on my PC and post something so that everyone wouldn't be wondering what the deal was.
The other side of that coin is I have told my kids that if something happens to me, they should reach out to you to let you know that Patjew is no more.

Did anyone else do the chats with Mike back at his Boston.com days? That was pretty cool.
Some of the professional writers that used to post here like Tom, Mike, Christopher, etc reached out to me when my wife died. I hate to use the word "cool" in that context, but it was, and very thoughtful.

I don't see how that could be possible.

He would take over your F-Ton business?
I'd like to think that it would shrivel up and die without me (not really), but there are several good candidates waiting in the wings for when Patjew hangs 'em up (unlikely) or croaks (pretty likely).

Yeah, I feel like you and I are about the same age, so try and take care of yourself so that we can both be around for a while.

There was a rumor that Tom Curran had an account here back in the day. @Ian could probably speak to the OP's question. I have seen posts here become talking points in the media a day or two later, so I do think there's media folks that at least read here. Players and coaches? I highly doubt it. Some low level staff working for the Krafts might skim it, but in my mind, that's a reach too.
“developing: disgruntled poster doesn’t care and reportedly can’t stand it.”

I've tried to modernize ours, and I think that's the only reason why we're still a little relevant. But it feels like everytime I go looking for one, it's gone. I think "Go Titans" was one that I was surprised to have seen disappear. I haven't talked to Jeff in years and he didn't respond to my email and the rumor is something might have happeend to him. We're all getting older, man...it's crazy.

The guy who originally helped me start a new forum when I moved off of Rivals (I was on his platform from late 2000 until he needed me to move to my own server in 2005 due to how busy this one became and tied up his resources) passed away back in 2018. He was the OG who originally helped start fansinblack, which is also now gone (they actually used to have a nice tribute to him). ... It's sad.
I do feel like these type forums were the intermediary between old chat rooms and modern FB/Reddit type of communities.

I’m personally on a few of those modern sites. But I feel like this still has always struck a nice balance. There’s definitely more structure here. I think that’s definitely something that’s getting lost.
