Ty Warren, solid DE and excellent against the run. Injuries shortened his career here. No one could run to his side. Roosevelt Colvin.. a big FA signing when we got him and lost him to the injury.. even though he wasn't the player he was in Chicago he was great here.. that INT on rivers in the 2007 divisional was a big play to help us win that game.

Brandon Lloyd an under the radar season in 2012 amasing over 1200 yards. What nice season he had and was one of the best acrobatic sideline catch wrs in the league.
Everytime I think of Lloyd this picture comes to mind. I like to think he just really loved the game.

Love that photo! Lloyd was a Josh move that season. I wish we could have kept him beyond 1 season.. not too many WR's had the production and impact he had in his first season with Brady. That image is the bills game that season!

New England Patriots Hall of Famer - should be

He made Hugh Millen the Patriots' first $million quarterback (while Flutie was being paid a third of that in Canada).

Ben(Watson)Jarvus[is] Green-Ellis Hobbs.

Movin' On Up!

1974 is to the Patriots what 1967 is to the Red Sox. Which is known to those of us lucky enough to have experienced it.

All 3 Patriots Unsung Heroes.

Very true

For me, I have always been looking for the next Tim Fox. An aggressive, daring, instinctive free safety. This position has been outlawed in the Belichick system and subsequent.

Mel Lunsford for getting the double murderer ejected in 1976. Roast in Hell ya POS and say hi to Shula for us
Never knew this story! Thanks for sharing×

Fred Marion and Willie 'Big Play' Clay not enough?

I can imagine they'd have a hard road to get in, but I think Bledsoe, Armstrong, and Coates should at least be talked about for Canton. I know Drew has the longest shot of those three. I also often think of how good he would have been if he had been drafted in 1983 instead of 1993. Imagine Bledsoe throwing to Morgan and Fryar!

What's the name of the special teams demon who preceded Slater (he's obviously forgotten as I can't recall his name)? Went on to be a special teams coach for other teams.

Edit- Larry Izzo

It was weird at the time.

And soon after the Ford Bronco chase, I thought back to it. Just out of nowhere.

Obviously nothing else analogous, but the sudden Bird-Dr. J fight felt similar.

Never forget Malcom Mitchell’s clutch contributions in the Falcons Super Bowl.
Huge 4th Quarter by MM in that game... 6 catches, 5 first downs, no drops, 60 + yards... a very underrated performance, when the margins were razor thin... MM gets overshadowed by Edelman & White, who had monster games in their own right, but he should be included in any discussion of that game

Definitely. His career was largely marred by his injury issues, but that 4th quarter was huge and extremely important to New England’s championship record.

Kicker John Smith. The bloke was nice to me as a boy.
All World Russ Francis. Howard Cosell and I both had big love for him.
Sam Cunningham, who invented the TD dive over the pile.
Julius Adams. The Jewel.
Don Blackmon and Andre Tippett. When Tippett hurt his shoulder in that last preseason game, ending his season, I almost wept.
And, my favorite, Joe Andruzzi. Just the best.
Matt Light, too. He was so dominant at Purdue protecting Drew Brees.

Bloke was pretty nice to me a few years ago. He was at training camp signing autographs. Talked a little about how was amongst that first group of soccer style kickers.

Walt Coleman and the league office in 2001: That was a judgement call and they very well could've ruled against NE. Brady thought had they lost that game, the team was going to insert Bledsoe as the starting QB in 2002.

Drew Bennett: Who else thought he was going to catch that pass deep in Pats territory? The Titans were a decent team, but they had no business being in that game. Had Bennett caught it, the Titans were in position to win the game.

Mike Vanderjagt: From the missed kick in the opener to the "ripe for the picking" comment before their playoff meeting. While he was right, he was the wrong person to be making that comment. He also set his team up for embarrassment which prompted Manning to throw him under the bus calling him the "idiot kicker" at the Pro Bowl I believe.

Pete Carroll and the offensive coaching staff: players and Lynch believe that the Seahawks didn't want to run the football because they wanted Wilson to be story throwing the game winning TD. Also, Lynch has said them not giving him the ball was retaliation for an incident that occurred earlier that season. I think Lynch flipped off the sideline.

Kyle Shanahan: All he had to do was run the football in the 2nd half which would've made the passing game impossible to stop. This pattern of poor game management/play calling in critical moments his has continued which is why he's never won a Super Bowl.

Jared Goff and Brandin Cooks: Goff missed a wide open Cooks blowing past the NE secondary. But when Goff finally located him in the end zone, Cooks does what he does best and drops a contested pass. Brandin made up for his careless play in 2017 before getting knocked out by Malcolm Jenkins.
