Gratz to Jules, well deserved...

Knew the vote was going to go his way, based on the poll here... the final tally here was
Edelman 54.5%
Vinatieri 42.9%
Mankins 2.6%

That vote was rigged. RLKAG would have won in a landslide

These moments come to my mind very frequently and every bit as iconic.
Damn!

Brady steps up in the pocket like a boss!

Mankins? Mr. October?

Well-deserved.

I hope the next step is Canton. He might not have the regular season numbers, but his playoff numbers are second to... Rice and that's it, I think.
When you think of HOF players you think of players who rose to the occasion and made a difference.

First five years be damned, in the playoffs and SB Edelman rose to the occasion and was as big a difference maker as anyone ever was.

The people complaining because of Viniateri not getting in aren't ready to have the discussion that Ghost was a better kicker for us than Viniateri. Ghost just doesn't have that GW playoff kick but kind of not his fault since he was the kicker when Brady climbed to the top of G.O.A.T mountain, whereas Viniateri was kicking for us with when Brady was just starting up the mountain.

Good job squirrel! Is AV guaranteed next year?

He doesn't have the pro-bowls, all-pro teams, and regular season stats that voters love. The snobs will look at him as a product of Brady's greatness and discount or disregard him. A shame really.

I was in the camp about Vinitieri getting in first, but that was before I realized that he and Edelman retired at the same time. For some reason I blocked out that he spent even more time with the Colts than he did with the Patriots and retired in 2020.

Vinatieri had some of the most iconic moments in Patriots history (two kicks in the Snow Bowl and two last second Super Bowl victories) compared to Edelman's one in the Atlanta Super Bowl, but I think a receiver is more important component to a team than a kicker. There is a reason there are 29 WRs and only 4 kickers in the NFL HOF.
Also 2014 Super Bowl (where he was walloped hard and continued on w/ a concussion) and the MVP in the 2018 SB. His numbers in the Super Bowls are spectacular, averaging over 100 yds and 10+ catches.

If there were a Playoff HOF or Super Bowl HOF, then Edelman would be a shoe-in.

Yet guys like Jerome Bettis are in the HOF.

Guy played small against the Pats.

Gained one yard and got up and danced.

WTF is up with spellcheck?

My typos would be more readable than spellcheck changes it to.

Spelling “Bettis” took about five tries.

3rd and 14 down 10 in the 4th qtr. and you just get walloped and suffer a certain concussion, but yet you get up and run for a big gain. This play was arguably the biggest play in a Super Bowl victory.

I'll remind everyone that though Adam's kick was huge at the end of the Carolina game, he missed two short FGs earlier in the game.

Gotta feel for Kam Chancellor on that play.

What more was he supposed to do?

Remember the time BB let him test the FA market?? I bet the Giants were kicking themselves for not signing him then. So glad he came back in the fold. Just amazing how he emerged into a very good WR...not many converted QB's make that switch effectively.

thats why i left the ****er off

In other words, you rigged the vote by omitting an obvious winning candidate from the poll.
You really are a great American, bless you in your continued efforts to save us from ourselves. You're doing the Lord's work!
