Interesting

I wonder if they would have gone Savaniiaea at 38 and then Dylan Sampson at 77 or after a trade back?

It just occurred to me that this was the person that Wolf said the Patriots were debating at 38 and not Jayden Higgins as almost all suspected.

I'm just going to put this out there, that there was a deliberate misinformation campaign run against the Dolphins, forcing them to trade up to get Savaniiaea, when they wanted Henderson all along.

I do think they like Savaniiaea (I do too, for that matter), they did work with him, but I'm not sure they liked him at 38.

Why would Wolf say this after the pick was made though? I think Occam's razor applies here. They did like, and debate, two prospects and while most people thought Wolf was talking about Jayden Higgins, it was actually Savaniiaea. It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that. That doesn't mean they'd have taken him over Henderson, just that there were two groups debating the two prospects. We will never know who would have won.

So Miami doesn't realize they got hoodwinked...so they can do it again in the future if need be.
I'm not making this up out of whole cloth.

What is so impressive is they got guys that can be day 1 starters.. Campbell, Williams, Henderson, farmer... to name a few

I don't see Farmer as a day one starter since arguably two of the top 3-4 players on defense play DT. I don't think Barmore will miss time. I hope I am not whistling past the graveyard on that one, but I think I am not.

We are playing a 4-3... he will be heavily involved in the rotation.. he's a hand in the dirt D tackle.. the same as Tonga. I can see him in a starting role over Tonga I feel good from the team reports on Barmore. Also Williams will be employ so many multiple fronts that depth is needed and we have it.

I was going give an "A" for this year's draft but upon further review, I have changed my grade to an A+.

In all all my years as a fan of the NEP, I can not remember a draft where the vast majority of reviews of a draft were so positive. Usually there are many disagreements as to the quality of players chosen or when they were picked (even during the good years), but not this time.

After the most recent seasons of darkness and witnessing the piss poor performance of our team, it looks like someone has turned the lights on and we are on the way back to respectability as a team.

As a die hard fan, this looks like a definite possibility and not just wishful thinking . . .

It goes to show how a real collaboration works where Egos are put aside and really what's best for the team matters.

After having success for so long RK grew accustomed to winning and all that came along with it. He desperately wants to see his team become a contender now.

TEAMS can be rebuilt in single seasons if the right moves are made. We've seemingly done so. I'm excited for where the team can go this season.

Given we took Maye last year, if this draft is as good as we hope it is, is it fair to say a rebuild is happening in a single season?

To be a bit of a contrarian here, although I gave it a A+ grade myself, was this actually a better draft class than many gave it credit for, since it was not strong at the top?

Yes the Pats appear to have drafted well, and really managed the draft well regarding when to move and when to stay put, but are other teams happy with their mid-late round picks as well?

I would think that other teams are hopeful as well (as they should be). Of course there is no certainty with any draft. However, I think that this is the first time in long while that there is a "realistic" hope that our team has really improved. I'm looking forward to camp, pre=season and the real season so we can all find out if this is for real. . .

In all the clips of picks being made in the Pats war room, it looks like in every case Wolf made the call, then handed the phone to Vrabel.

Then they handed it to Kraft.

Is that something new with Kraft speaking with every pick?

Don’t know if I saw that before.

I thought we got players that could really help us and it was a decent draft.

However, we were picking very high and it was expected we'd come away with good players when picking at the top of the draft.

Not too many comments about that here.

Think about it. If we're picking 31st and 32nd, the first guy we take is TreVeyon Henderson. This entire board would go ballistic at our 1st rounder being a running back, and you'd be reading all sorts of comparisons to Sony Michel.

Then we'd take another WR at the end of the 2nd round, and everyone would be mentioning Chad Jackson and Brandon Tate.

That would be followed up with a Center?

And a reach for a 7th round safety in Woodson?

My point is, drafts always look pretty good when you have premium picks.

Bledsoe, McGinest, Seymour, Warren, etc. These were great picks.

Yes, he always talks to the players, and Kraft Productions makes sure to put it on the video they release every time.

It's pretty clear Vrabel is all about coaching the character of the player. Telling Woodson to get more excited, always telling the draftees to thank those around him.
I love the fact that he reminds them to thank the people that helped him get there. Also the Will Campbell clip where he said that if a DLman gets 1 sack a game they are first round material, but if a OLman gives up a sack a game they are working at Amazon and there nothing wrong with that.

The fact that Campbell had the awareness to say there's nothing wrong working at Amazon which leads me to believe he will not be a selfish player.

If we were picking that late it probably means we don't have an untalented roster.
