Draft day 2: reset

Pats will go WR or Edge with their next pick. Maybe even FS. Wouldn’t shock me if they double dip on OL.

Let's hope Vrabel can draft a wide out who won't fail miserably like many of Bill's picks have in the past.
Let's hope Skippy's new offense doesn't require the QB and WR to conduct a mind meld every play.
That’s a Brady thing and Josh should adapt to that.

A lot of back and forth about OL.

Don't be silly it's still a need. Moses and Bradbury aren't young and Strange only has one year left on his rookie deal and may not be a big factor for Vrabel.

You guys are talking about depth but we still need starting caliber OLs.

Also keep in mind the last time Vrabel mentioned Strange it was as a center. If you just take him at his word then who is our starting LG?

And I've defended Strange and still think he can contribute but he's going to need to prove himself to Vrabel and that could be at center anyway.

I'm probably going WR or defense at 38 but getting some more OLs especially interior OLs is very much still perfectly fine by me and especially something we should go in rounds 3 or 4.

Yes- solid, develomental OL prospects that have a chance to start are a need...but as of right now not the highest of priorities.

DT is also a significant need. No guarantees Barmore can play 17 games.

Based on other players with Barmore's condition in the past, he should be fine to come back. I think last year, the Pats got desperate for wins and rushed him back when they should have sat him the entire year.

Thank you: they spent a $h!t of load of time with him: obviously somebody likes what they see. IF Trapilo -Grant or Ersery is the Pick OL is set for years to come. All Three have Starting Tackle Upside.
I am not advocating they take him at #38. I am advocating that if they've determined he's a day 1 starter, then I want them to trade back in to R2 before the Eagles at #64 and get him. If they feel he's that guy, then the line suddenly goes from suspect to pretty freakin' good. I am on board with Campbell, Trapilo, Bradbury, Onwenu and Moses, with Strange and maybe Drew Kendall or Jake Majors late day 3 picks.

Day 3.

The Giants offered number 3 overall and a first round pick to move up to number 1?

That's not nearly enough guy. What are we doing here.

I am no draftick, but Luther Burden looks to be the exact kind of receiver that McDaniels loves in his offense. Of course that was the Brady offense and not necessarily what McDaniels will be running this time around.

I think he's in play before then. I read the Eagles want him at #64. I think you have to trade back up to the end of R2 if you want him. Supposedly the Eagles have been spending a lot of time at BC, much like the Pats, and their interest is real. Pick #77 and next year's R2 should get it done.

I suspect the Eagles will be going Edge at 64. Several teams have been linked to Trapilo, I'd sweat Carolina or the Giants more than Philly but what do I know. 77 and next year's 2 is a stiff price. I'd imagine it'll depend on how the 2nd shakes out, whether the run on O-linemen continues. RN I think Trapilo will be there at 69, the question is will he be there at 77. I doubt it

Blaming the Patriots doctors? What caused his blood clots?

I like the optimism but i'd be shocked if he played 75% of the 750 snaps he had in 2023.

Still need a 3rd DT who can push the inside in the rotation. They don't have it and it's a key element to their defensive philosophy.

I would trade up to get him, although I think they’ll just wait to see who is there at 38 in which case I doubt Burden will still be there.

I could have sworn that I saw reports last year that the Pats did rush him back. Not that they fudged anything or that, but they decided to go against caution and allowed him to come back sooner that he should.

Of course the reason for blood clots can vary greatly. But blood clots are usually not a long term condition is treated or need potentially dangerous (when playing football) blood thinners. But there are obviously conditions that it could be the case. Once the blood clots are successfully dealt with, less dangerous medication can be used to treat long term. Again, that is in most cases, not all. But the fact that they were letting him play last year means that the doctors do not see this as a long term issue.

I don't trust this FO/scouting dept to identify the right receiver at 38. DE or OL in the 2nd round preferably.

I worry they will pass on Higgins for someone like Noel.

I would not be shocked if they came out of this draft with 3-4 OL.

I'm good with a WR or Edge at 38 but if Emmanwori is there I can't see passing him up

I heard Barmore pushed to play and both the team's and his doctors were comfortable with the assumed risk that he may have a setback. Whatever. Water under the bridge and we don't here Barmore blaming anyone so...

Regardless of the blame, I don't see Milton Williams playing 80% of the snaps. That's a big number for a guy who never played more than 48%/500 snaps.

Barmore was 66% of the snaps in 2023. I need to see him play 50 snaps a game before I believe he doesn't experience any setbacks.

They need another strong pass-rushing/run stopping DT in the rotation.

Jaylin Noel has to be the pick at 38!!!
Fast, electric, great separation, sharp cuts
The next Ladd Mcconkey

Will partially make up for Wolf’s idiotic trade last year

Hope he will be there at 38
Would even trade up to 34 to get him

Would be ironic, last year they traded 34 for 38 and lost out on mcconkey
This year trade 38 for .34 and get next mcconkey
