NFL Draft Talk

I don't think Will Campbell is a blue chip LG. I think he's a very good albeit flawed tackle prospect, who is a first round talent but pick 4 is too rich. I think this whole narrative about pushing him inside because of measurables is asinine. I don't think he'd be amongst the top 5 guards in this class. He plays too upright and gets pushed back too easily by a bullrush. If we draft Campbell at 4 it has to be at LT, otherwise you're drafting a mediocre guard at 4.

I think Tyler Booker is the best LG in the draft. I also think he could play LT, although he didn't play there in college. Probably the least talked about prospect in the first 3 rounds of the draft, which I'm really struggling to understand.
I didn't say Campbell was blue of any sort. He's played LT for 3 years.

Same length arms, but a wider wingspan means wider chest and shoulders. Which is easier to swipe out of the way, a 1" diameter sapling or a 4" wide tree?

Besides, in theory, the same-length arms don't make holding penalties any more common for the player with the wider chest. It just means the player with the wider chest has to step slightly less to the side to avoid the penalty.
Come on

This has been some of this board this week.
By tomorrow night, it's going to be 'Ceiling, Barry Sanders and Jim Brown combined - Floor, Bo Jackson and Eric ****erson combined'
He catches out of the backfield well too so got to Include a little Marshall Faulk in there

On a side note Pickens stopped following the Steelers.
He is going somewhere this weekend.
I would predict in this order.

Buff
Dallas
Was
NE
LA Chargers

Last I looked Hannah never won a superbowl. So no I don't think getting another Hannah is what we want
That's the dumbest flippin' take ever. The guy is still in the discussion of the best offensive lineman of all time. It's not his fault they couldn't keep a winning team around him long enough to get a ring.

Where was it discussed he stopped following them? I missed that I guess.
Hey, numb nuts... you can't quote yourself and then ask a question. You have to sign out of your main account, sign in to your fake account and then ask yourself the question to make yourself relevant.

Wow lol I only have one account, you don’t know who you’re talking to with that tough internet guy talk. But hey anything to compensate for your shortcomings.
Might be why your rooting for the guy with the lack of length.

Nice try. Swing and a miss.

What's really funny is that you still don't realize you asked yourself a question to make your first statement relevant. Better scroll back and look, bucko.

I don't particularly want Pickens, but I think Pickens would be less of a character issue if he went to a place with a real QB. Much of his frustration is because the Steelers give him crap to throw to him. Not an excuse for his behavior, but the reasoning because of it. Although he could still be a problem with any of the teams on this list other than Buffalo and NE since he would be definitely/likely the #2 option on the other teams.

No, no, no it's not.
Pickens has been a behavioral issue since long before he got to the NFL.

He's always had character issues though, not just at the Steelers. He was a very polarising prospect purely down to how much of a pain in the ass he is.

Found this pre-draft report on Pickens from The Athletic

For a recent Athletic post, Bruce Feldman picked the brain of several scouts and position coaches. When the topic of this year’s “most boom-or-bust” receiver came up, several responses highlighted Pickens.

“George Pickens,” an unnamed scout said. “There’s a lot of upside, but he can’t get out of his own way. He’s been enabled his whole life.”

A wide receiver coach shared similar sentiments, explaining that no amount of talent could convince him to draft the Georgia Bulldog.

Pickens. You love his game, but there’s some issues. Do you want to work with him? He’s a top-6 talent-wise, but it’s impossible not to add those other things. He has the size, has really good range. He positions his body on deep throws. He consistently beats press coverage. Has good start-stops with some AI (Allen Iverson) crossover in his game. A lot of the stuff in (Todd Monken’s) system translates to the NFL. But I wouldn’t touch him.

Wide Receiver Coach 3 speaking to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic

Another coach even broke out the dreaded pre-draft term: red flags.

“On tape, he is probably a top-5 wide receiver but there’s just so many red flags, and they’re big red flags. He’s got a lot of growing up to do,” the anonymous Wide Receiver Coach 5 explained. “If he goes to the right place with a room full of veterans that help him go the right way, I think he’ll have a chance.”

My last swing:

I think we should take Campbell and trade up for Egbuka.

Yes, but I am saying many of his character issues on the field were related to him having crap QB. I didn't say he would become a boy scout. I said he would be "less of a character issue". I know his history.

I get that. See my last post. And I said he would be less of a character issue than he was in Pittsburgh. I didn't say he would be a model player.
