NFL Draft Talk

I don’t know what math you use but way off is not correct math. Your “tiny percentage” math quote seemed (more) way off than mine. Just drop it. It’s now a moot point to me.

I like
Campbell but this would be an awful
Move.

If Carter is available at 4 and the Patriots don’t want him, there will be teams that do. I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be a good trade offer in that scenario, compared to the most likely scenario where Carter and Hunter are off the board.

Dude! My point was the players “Campbell” went up against, most were going to be NFL players. Not MAC or WAC players, SEC. I even gave you a list of names he played against. Look at the NFL DL’s. They are all littered with SEC players. Most (let’s call it 75% haha) teams have some SEC talent on their two deep even our own Pats have like 3 if you count Jennings and Chaisson as edge guys. That’s the level of players Campbell played guys.

If they take Campbell over Carter and do not trade back from 4, I would like to see Wolf fired before the 2nd round.

You're making such a big leap from %1.6 to %75 based on nothing other than "dude it's the SEC".

Sorry if I think you're way off the mark.

But to hit %75 3 out every 4 teams he played had at least one NFL caliber DL and he played vs them every snap in those games. Common sense says this did not occur.

Yea he played against that many NFL players. I named them in that post. And no one said he played against said players every down. Not many people are privy to that kind of information. You’re just making things up. Go look up against whom he played and tell me 75% teams didn’t have/had NFL players, even starter material who played against Campbell.
I’ll stand by my statement unless proven way wrong. Don’t come to me nitpicking either.

I guess I don't know what you're saying then. What does played against mean to you? He played one snap in the game and that's enough for you?

My point is that regardless of being in the SEC he still went up against future gym teachers a huge percentage of his playtime. Guys that wouldn't be able to take advantage of his arm length because even if they knew the right techniques for someone with short arms they don't have the length or skill to beat it. Compared to the NFL where even the crappy NFL players almost every game/sometimes every snap will include someone with the length and knowledge to try and take advantage.

Vederian Lowe’s arm length is 35 3/8”. Okafor’s arm length is 34.5. Trent Brown’s arm length is 36 “

WTF, why are they even looking for a left tackle, Why did they let Okafor and Brown leave??? They have long arms. For that matter there’s a guy at my gym with really long arms, they should draft him. Production and athleticism doesn’t matter, not even if you are 6’6 320 and top 1% of all tackles tested athletically over the last 30 years, that doesn’t matter at all. You don’t have to be a great athlete to play left tackle, you just have to have really long arms. Maybe they should draft one of the kids who bags my groceries at Hannafords, some of them have really long arms.

Why not Vrabel? He would be making the decision?

Because Sam is the only one here who understands that Eliot Wolf is the Big Dog puppet master in New England. And he’s right. In a room with Vrabel, Cowden, and Streicher Eliot Wolf is clearly the ALPHA Male. And even if all three of them say that they want Armand Membou, Wolf will tell them all to shut up, listen, and learn. And then tell them he’s trading the #4 pick to K.C. for Tyquan Thornton, just as he ordered Bill Belichick to take Thornton a few years ago. And just as Belichick was too timid to handle the ferocity of Wolf’s insistence, Vrabel, Cowden, and Streicher will shrink into a corner, and cower under the orders from the Big Dog.

And where do most of those who make it to the NFL come from? They come from the power conferences.

I'm not denying that Campbell playing in the SEC saw a good amount of NFL caliber talent and that hopefully gives Vrabel and Wolf enough to scout how well he will do when he faces that level of talent every snap in the pros.

I'm ready to accept those short arms and expect him to overcome them. So I'm nitpicking but I guess I just took issue with %75 it just seemed so wildly high to me I had to debate it (turns out it was a made up number).

SBB, my problem is this: Dante Scarnechia says it doesn’t matter, Joe Thomas says it doesn’t matter, Mike Vrabel says they have scouted him and he’s a left tackle. Yet despite this, and having exceptional size, athleticism, production, and leadership skills there are people here who throw all of that out and just keep repeating “ arm length” over and over and over and over and over………..It’s literally the only thing they can come up with. Then some of these morons have the audacity to call him “ mediocre,” when they have never even seen him play, and have demonstrated in the past that they are completely ignorant when it comes to the draft. In short, it gets really old.

Last point before I head to work. Someone in this thread said they watched tape of Landon Jackson against Will Campbell, and that Campbell “ struggled” against Jackson.

Landon Jackson had 2 pressures against Will Campbell.

Boy did Campbell “ struggle,” he let up 2 pressures in that game. He sucks.

So much for the veracity of people here claiming they “ watched tape” and so an so sucked. Fortunately now we can get the actual data and find out the truth of what happened.

If you have zero concern over his arm length then you should probably just consider him to be as good if not a better prospect than Hunter or Carter? Maybe not Hunter but certainly Carter who isn't perfect physically either.

I like opinions from Scar, Thomas, Vrabel, and others more than just stating "he played in the SEC and it wasn't a problem there" and certainly more than make believe numbers.

And I've stated that if Vrabel puts his money where his mouth is then I'll trust his beliefs that he doesn't think arm length will prevent him from playing LT. Until Vrabel or another team does that Arm length will still be discussed every time he is.

I don't want Will Campbell at 4, simply because I don't think he's worthy of the number 4 pick. I would rather take the blue chip game wrecker in Mason Graham and pick up Ersery or Conerly if he's there early in round 2.

But on the arm length thing, I do think it's being overstated with Campbell. Josh Simmons is my favourite tackle in this class and he also has 33" arms, but nobody seems to consider it an issue for him.

Thursday night can't get here soon enough. We are just regurgitating the same old, tired points.

Campbell has no arms
Campbell isn't worth #4
They should just trade up/down
They should take (insert some other player here)
