To save face.I mean they offered the greatest player ever one year guaranteed
My question is why even make an offer at all when he made it clear he didn't want to return

Correct. That at visiting Ross on his yacht.Tom Brady admits 'natural tension' with Bill Belichick led to Patriots exit
Tom Brady knew he was heading for a split with the Patriots a few years before it happened.sports.yahoo.com
It doesn't. Bill's alot. Watch The Dynasty. An emotional Tom says he wasn't signing here for any amount of money. His own words. He had everyone in circle telling him to not put up with Bill's **** anymore. I am not saying that his marriage wasn't a factor, it was, but to say that he was not affected by being browbeat by Bill is putting your head in the sand. There was a lot of **** that went on, there's no smoking gun, it's years of crap piling up.It takes some real effort to imagine Tom cared more about his negative feelings for Bill, rather than his desperate attempt to save his marriage and millions of dollars.
Real stupid sht…
Holley is awful now. He used to be pretty good, now he's just a pale imitation of Felger. It's infuriating.
Maybe I am too old, but those guys all talking over each other made my teeth itch. I think EEI's wheelhouse for sports content was Dale and Holley.

Holley is much better on his own podcast and when he does radio fill ins
The Dynasty was a hit piece, creative editing by a filmmaker who hated Bill’s friendship with Trump and with a mandate to make Bob look omniscient to get him in the HOF.It doesn't. Bill's alot. Don’t care. He said it.The Dynasty was a hit piece, creative editing by a filmmaker who hated Bill’s friendship with Trump and with a mandate to make Bob look omniscient to get him in the HOF.
Brady outright said his relationship with Bill deteriorated and that it was a major cause in him leaving. The Dynasty was a hit piece, creative editing by a filmmaker who hated Bill’s friendship with Trump and with a mandate to make Bob look omniscient to get him in the HOF.

Brady gave you the answer.
RK was friends with Trump too.... also the documentary was made while bill was still here. The Dynasty was a hit piece, creative editing by a filmmaker who hated Bill’s friendship with Trump and with a mandate to make Bob look omniscient to get him in the HOF.
According to Rapapport they offered the same money. TB guaranteed two years. NEP only one.
Huck,The bottom line for me in this discussion is, and has always been, that both Belichick and Brady wanted to part ways. And the fault for that lies with Belichick. Had he shown Brady the respect he deserved, and offered to pay him what he deserved the rift would have been healed. But ultimately the reason Belichick didn’t do this is because he believed that Brady was too old, and he felt it was time to move on for the organization. But it worked out well for Brady, as he got more money, another ring, and put to rest the argument that his success was all due to Belichick.

Clearly his wife wore the pants in the family, getting browbeat by his wife and Bill was probably too much to handle.Don’t care. He said it.
Well.. his retirement.. we all could survive off of on the forum.. you think he'll be ok with the 300 million he's worth..Clearly his wife wore the pants in the family, getting browbeat by his wife and Bill was probably too much to handle.
20 years at any job is a long time.
From his own words.. he had it in his mind for a few seasons.. especially when the Guerr situation happened.I think what Tom said was he wasn't coming back no matter what money was being offered.
Unless you imply some different than respect = money?
For dramatic effect for a documentary. And again, I'm sure his wife threatening divorce, the millions of dollars more Tampa was offering with no state tax, the super weapons on the Bucs... all that meant nothing in relation to his feelings for Bill.Brady outright said his relationship with Bill deteriorated and that it was a major cause in him leaving.
Brady gave you the answer.

The guy who when asked later what he meant to his career Tom got misty eyed and emotional... once his harpy of a wife divorced him I mean.
Sounds legit...
Blame Giselle. She was banging her karate teacher and wanted to move closer to him.
