Bentley release makes sense if the coaching evaluation is he's too slow for Vrabel's 4-3/4-2-5 defensive looks. He was also scheduled to make 6.75 million dollars this season.

Yep and by releasing him early they gave him more time to catch on with another club.

My belief is they are keeping him because a) under 30, healthy, and productive and b) no savings if cut.

The would realize savings if they trade him after June 1. We'll see how he pans out.

I suspect (especially if they deem other players to be better in performance and in the team's culture), then Tavai is most likely a Post June 1st Trade, or outright cut (despite the cap hit).

Just FYI. With Bentley and Andrews gone there is now only 1 member on this team who was part of any super bowl win they had on the active roster (no coaches!).

I am kind of bummed out that he didn't get a chance to see if he fits in but I tend to agree that they are giving him a chance to find a place he wants to be. I think both sides probably acknowledged that his game is not ideal for the direction they want to go in. He wont ever get a red jacket but the guy was solid during his time here and he gave his all for the team. Thanks Ja'whaun for all that you did as a Pat!

Yep. Not sure Over the Cap is 100% accurate but it seemed there were some ways to realize some cap savings.

Yea there are some players that deserve a little "extra appreciation" when the leave the org and some that don't.

Bentley seemed like solid guy, worked hard, and did OK here but hes short of that category.

He was a really good pro, and worked hard to get better. I won't have anything bad to say about a 5th round pick like that.
