Spillane was a head scratcher for me because of the lack of speed, but he is very instinctive
Oh well, thanks for the work you've put in Bentley! The best of luck!
Just FYI. With Bentley and Andrews gone there is now only 1 member on this team who was part of any super bowl win they had on the active roster (no coaches!).
You win 1 internet if you can say who without looking it up.
I suspect (especially if they deem other players to be better in performance and in the team's culture), then Tavai is most likely a Post June 1st Trade, or outright cut (despite the cap hit).
Does this make us Consider someone like Jalon Walker a little more?
Even if it’s 3-3-5 one of the “lbs” is the edge who you call a DE in 4-2-5
I 100% agree on Mapu
Tavai will be a super sub
with the amount of cap space they have available I’m not really sure of the need to save $5 mm in salary by cutting him. I’d prefer they have at least given him the opportunity to compete for snaps/a roster spot in training camp.
Before this move I thought they were all set at backer and going to avoid to position in the draft. Now I think they absolutely draft a linebacker.
Even with the cap hit for just this year, I wouldn't rule out Vrabel eventually cutting him. Especially if he deems the upside of getting him off of the team to be more beneficial than the downside of getting him off of the team.Vrabel is keeping his promise and cutting these entitled players. Tavai is staying over Bentley because of the high dead cap hit. He'll be gone next year for sure though.
Not sure how you guys didn't see this coming with Spillane the highest paid LB and Ellis tied with Bentley for 2nd. These were the moves Bill was supposed to make in 2022, but signed retreads and drafted dudes with no knees.
It's going to be difficult for Tavai to get playing time. Spillane and Ellis are your starting LB's.Even with the cap hit for just this year, I wouldn't rule out Vrabel eventually cutting him. Especially if he deems the upside of getting him off of the team to be more beneficial than the downside of getting him off of the team.
Don’t care if he’s an *******. He can play many positions and will be a valuable sub. Played very well for us when used properly in 2023Agree
Completely disagree. Dude's an ******* who Sucks.
Ellis is not a starter. No way. Gibbens and Tavai are both ahead of him. It's going to be difficult for Tavai to get playing time. Spillane and Ellis are your starting LB's.
Vrabel has done a great job making changes and putting players on notice. I was getting tired of seeing the same entitled players on defense handed jobs by BB like Wise, Bentley, Tavai, Godsmack, Jennings etc.
I wouldn't yet rule out Gibbins getting plays at LB, In addition to other players either already on the roster, or one added through the draft, or any further trades. It's going to be difficult for Tavai to get playing time. Spillane and Ellis are your starting LB's.

Ellis is the 2nd highest paid LB on the team. Lol. Why would they do that to have him as a backup? Whether you like it or not, he's starting next to Spillane as of right now. Tavai's snaps are going to drop dramatically. In fact, his ass would've been cut yesterday had his cap hit been like Bentley's.Ellis is not a starter. No way. Gibbens and Tavai are both ahead of him.
Your last sentence is silly.
Gibbens making $1.3M to Ellis' $6.754M. Ellis is going to have every opportunity to start as of today.I wouldn't yet rule out Gibbins getting plays at LB, In addition to other players either already on the roster, or one added through the draft, or any further trades.
Yep. As for Tavai, I suspect it'll be Goodbye Tavai. I understand that Ellis actually played well last season and showed promise.Ellis is the 2nd highest paid LB on the team. Lol. Regarding my last sentence. Nah, too many entitled players enabled by Bill. Vrabel needed to get rid of the bad seeds.

Starters aren’t determined by paycheck. Tavai is actually higher paid btwEllis is the 2nd highest paid LB on the team. Lol. Why would they do that to have him as a backup? I'd also keep my eye on Chaisson... OLB.. I think is an under radar signing.. could end up carving out a role here..Ellis is the 2nd highest paid LB on the team. Lol. Its almost like you didn't watch Bill coach for 18 years. This is one of the more rediculous statements I've seen made on Patsfans and that says a lot. It's going to be difficult for Tavai to get playing time. Spillane and Ellis are your starting LB's.
