Player Signing Patriots sign Center Garrett Bradbury

A move from total incompetency towards mediocrity. None of the OL guys is a long term solution. A smart veteran center will make the OL calls which will help Maye and the rest of the OL. Need more of course.
Usually with McDaniels the center doesn’t make the calls. We’ll see if that change

Your first step's wrong.

There was a gaping hole at center all year last year from the opening kickoff.
And there is still a hole at center even with Bradbury. Because i don’t know how a guy that pass blocked as bad as Ben Brown last year will solve our problem.

He was one of the worst staring center in the league last year. That’s why the Vikings replaced him with Ryan Kelly

Was he a liability all year or just down the stretch when the entire line seem to have fallen apart? Darnold had a great year. I can't see Darnold having a good year with his center being a liability. Darnold is a guy who sees ghosts. I didn't watch many Vikings games last year.
Our fans of worst in the league offense are ****ting on the C and LT of the 9th in the league offense that was 14-3. But, PFF

You aren’t the 55th/64 center in pass blocking grade by bad just down the stretch.

Guess who was the 56th center in pass blocking grade last year ? Ben Brown.

Edit: I’ll give credit to Bradbury. He is a good run blocker. I think that pass blocking is more important
Have we really reached the point where people take PFF ratings seriously?

PFF grades aren't perfect and shouldn't be taken as gospel but I doubt too many of us, if any, are really breaking down Garrett Bradbury film. And IDK about anyone here, but I got other things to spend money on rather than subscriptions to better sites. So as a general reference point... I think PFF is about as good/accessible as is out there.

If the Vikings had Pop Douglas and Kendrick Mourne instead of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, they would have gone 3-14.
Elite WRs make a huge difference to an offense.

Bad info doesn’t become good info in the absence of other info

I just think that if you can develop Strange as a center you are in a much better position than with Bradbury.

Bradbury is at the top of the depth chart right now but Strange train all last year during his rehab at center. If he continues to rep at center during the offseason I wouldn’t be shocked if he overtakes Bradbury in TC.
Lotta "ifs" with Strange. I'd rather see them leave him at LG and then draft a guy like Tate Ratledge. Gimme that.

No

My understanding is this. Last season he was one of the worst starting centers in the NFL, particularly as a pass blocker.... but before that he was okay. Never great but better than last year.... servicable as a pass blocker though still not much good at it... just not complete garbage Is this correct or am i wrong?

If so i am okay signing someone coming off a bad year. We don't know what injuries may have happened or what outside circumstances may have caused him to have a down year and a bounce back is very possible.
What was the source of your "understanding? "

Some things never change. Only here at Patsfans could a $3.8M in guarantees prove it deal at a position of need to a former 1st round pick with a history of being a reliable starter on a 14 win team be seen as a bad move. Bradbury is just another potential piece in a puzzle that has yet to be assembled. Patsfans 'Oh no $3.8M in cap space gone' also Patsfans 'F'n Wolf needs to do something about this OL'
Give it a hot minute, if it ends up a mistake at least it will be a cheap one

Let’s try this one. Without mentioning grade from the dubious PFF tell me what’s not like about Bradbury.
