Player Signing Patriots sign Center Garrett Bradbury

I like it, low on the guarantees and keeps Cole Strange at his natural position at guard. Pats should still consider drafting a center on Day 2 or 3 just in case. Hopefully Doug Marrone can coach him up on the pass blocking.

Hopefully his issues in pass protection can be coached out of him.

Good, solid, no brainer move. Nothing crazy, but improves one of our biggest weaknesses. Ideally we'd improve even further via a young player breakout or a draft pick but nothing wrong with incremental improvement.

Like that there's a reasonable 2nd year on the deal so we have the option of keeping him next year so, if we still find ourselves needing a stop gap center, we aren't scrambling.

I think I an offense line where you have capable starters next to you you won’t notice it that much as for an Ot for example but they should keep looking for centers

So Marrone didn't like Strange @ Center.

??? Strange Bradbury Onwenu Moses
I bet Strange still gets reps at center. Of those 4 you listed, I'd say only Onwenu at RG and Moses at RT are coming to camp as 100% locked in as starters. I'd say that they plan to play the best 2-man combo out of:

Cole Strange
Garrett Bradbury
Sidy Sow
Layden Robinson
Jake Andrews
Wes Schweitzer
Caedan Wallace (if they try him inside)
any draft picks

Right now, on paper, the favorite going in is definitely Strange at LG and Bradbury at Center like you listed it. Those two have the best NFL track record and the most money/pedigree. Clearly the favorites. But if someone else outplays those guys I'd say it's still fluid.

Objective of the season: protect Drake Maye.

1st step : create a hole at center
2nd step: sign a center that can’t pass block.

Unless they think they may already have one in house, I suspect they will still draft 1.

We seriously have 2x as many centers on the team as any other NFL team

Bradbury
Strange
Jake Andrews
Ben Brown
Lecitus Smith

We really dont need any more centers

Besides the LT (obviously) that should be a fairly solid line. I would still like some kind of acquisition at LG even if Strange is starting. A guy like Brandon Scherff would be perfectly fine. On the right side, Robinson is probably a sufficient backup to Onwenu. Strange would be able to kick over to C if Bradbury got hurt, although it seems like Bradbury is sturdy as hell so seems unlikely. Schweitzer may also be the backup C since he also plays both guard spots.

3/5 of the line set for the immediate future. Assuming Strange can be a decent LG, then all they need for the short term is a starting LT. Obviously several of these guys are short term solutions, but the o-line, at least on paper, is significantly better today than it was last season.

Sometimes you need a home run but a single base hit won't hurt. Another step on the improvement direction.

Dependability health wise is a huge plus with him over Andrews.

Looks like he’s only missed around 10 games total in his career. Never has played in less than 12.
